The Moonveil Katana is a great weapon given it can dish out some big damage plus it causes bleed build up. This is one of the best weapons in Elden Ring, plus it’s fairly easy to get. Today I am going to show you how to get it, plus go through the weapon skill for the Moonveil Katana in Elden Ring.
How to get the Moonveil Katana
Moonveil can be found in the Gael Tunnel, just on the border of Eastern Limgrave and Caelid. To find the Gael Tunnel you’ll want to go to the Smouldering Church, north east of Limgrave and start there. Jump on your horse and then ride towards the border of Caelid. When you get to the border, jump up and then hug the cliffs until you drop down and find the opening, there you’ll find a site of grace to rest up and prepare if you need to.
The Gael Tunnel is relatively straight forward, once you get inside you’ll find a site of grace. Then you can either pick the enemies off one by one or run through to the end to find the other site of grace, which is next to the boss room.
The boss is the Magma Wyrm, and the Moonveil Katana will drop when you beat the boss. This guy can be pretty challenging, so you might want to level up a bit before fighting him. You could try bringing a friend in co-op, or levelling up with some rune farming techniques.
Once you take down the Magma Wyrm, you’ll get the Moonveil Katana.

Moonveil is a magic-based katana and required 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity and 23 Intelligence. It’s considered one of the best melee weapons for any socery build given it’s Intelligence scaling, plus it causes the bleed build up too.
Moonveil has a very good weapon skill called Transient Moonlight. This is where you sheath the Katana then unleash a horizontal wave of magic for big damage. It requires a lot of FP, so keep an eye on that meter when you are using the skill.
