Do you want to level up fast in Elden Ring? There is a fantastic rune farming location that will net you 40k runes in minutes, and you can rinse and repeat as much as you want. Today I’m going to show you this rune farming location, how to get there, so you can level up very quickly in Elden Ring.

Mohgwhyn’s Palace rune farm
The best rune farm relatively early in the game is near Mohgwhyn’s Palace. You will have to beat the first major boss Godrick the Grafted, but once you do that it opens up this farming location that will allow you to get 40,000 runes in mere minutes. Enemies at this location are worth 2000 runes each and you can take them out with a couple of hits.
To get to this location you’ll need to progress with Varre’s quest. He’ll give you an item called Pureblood Knight’s medal which allows you to teleport to this location, then you can simply ride Torrent to a nearby Site of Grace, and then use that for a base to farm all the runes you’ll need to level up nice and quickly.
You’ll first meet Varre when you start the game, this is the man in a white mask standing standing next to a wall when you first exit the tutorial area in Limgrave. You’ll want to speak to him a few times and he’ll tell you about Godrick the Grafted, and how you need to beat him.
Once you have defeated Godrick, go back to Varre and speak to him to begin his quest. Varre will congratulate you on defeating Godrick, and he says you should speak to the Two Fingers at the Roundtable Hold.
Open up the map, select all sites of Grace with triangle, then hit square to go to the Roundtable Hold. Since you have defeated Godrick the Grafted a new door will have opened up, in there are the Two Fingers plus a Finger Reader. Speak to the Finger Reader and get to the end of their dialogue.
Next you want to make your way to the Rose Church. This is in the next major area of the game after Limgrave, and west of Academy Gate Town in Liurnia. You can ride Torrent there once you have got through to Liurnia.
Speak to Varre and say the Two Finger’s “didn’t seem right”. Varre then says the Two Fingers cannot be trusted and are corrupt. Keep talking to him and he’ll give you five Festering Bloody Fingers, this is a consumable item that allows you to invade others games.
Finish up with Varre and then use three of the Festing Bloody Fingers. You use them one at a time and then invade for a taste of PVP. You don’t have to win, just taking part is going to progress the quest.
Once you have completed 3 PVP matches, then go back and speak to Varre again. Varre is pleased you are enjoying his gift and then anoints you as a knight of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Varre then gives you some white fabric which you have to soak in the blood of a maiden.
For the next step you want to travel to north in Liurnia to the Church of Inhibition. This area can be a little tricky because of the madness that tries to kill you, however it is doable. Traveling north from the Rose Church is difficult because the northern section appears to be on higher ground. However, near one of the Minor Erdtree you can jump on some pillars with Torrent to help you get to the raised area.
As you approach the Church of Inhibition you’ll be invaded, kill the invader and then go into the Church of Inhibition to find the dead maiden. Interact with the maiden to soak the white fabric in blood. Then return to Varre at the Rose Church.
Speak to Varre once again, and offer your finger to Varre. He’ll then give you the Pureblood Knight’s medal, which allows you to teleport to Mohgwhyn’s Palace.
From where you land after you have been teleported, follow my route on screen to get to the site of grace. Once you make it to the site of grace then rest until the morning. Then you can go and attack the enemies. They are very dosile and quite slow, and you can kill them easily in a few hits. Each enemy will get you 2000 runes, and you can easily take out 10-20 in a single run getting you 40,000 runes in minutes.
Lenne’s Rise rune farm
If you haven’t beaten Godrick the Grafted yet, then there is another early game rune farm which will help you level up quickly. You can do this right at the start of the game, you don’t need to beat any bosses and it’s still a quick way to level up to help you get to Stormbveil Castle and beat Godrick the Grafted.
From the very start of the game you’ll want to head to the Gatefront Ruins, you can do this on foot. Once you have got there, rest at the sight of grace and then speak to the NPC, who will give you access to Torrent, your horse. Once this is finished, jump on your horse and ride to the east of Limgrave to the Third Church of Marika.
Behind the Third Church of Marika you’ll find a teleporter in the bushes. This is going to transport you to Caelid, an area you shouldn’t be in during the early game, so try and steer clear of any enemies as they will hit hard. From the location where you got teleported to, jump on your horse and ride down the hill. Cross the bridge, and then run through the dragon’s legs and keep going, left a little and then find the site of Grace for Lenne’s Rise. From here, rest at the site of grace, and then once your done with that jump on your horse and turn around and start to ride down the hill to the left. A big ball will appear, and you want to take a sharp right, and then watch as the ball rolls off the cliff. This will get you 1900 runes.
You can then teleport back to Lenne’s Rise and then repeat this over and over to get enough runes to level up. This is a great early game farm that allows you to get stronger, so you can pick up some good starter weapons and get used to beating enemies and ultimately Godrick the Grafted. Then once you have defeated Godrick, go back to the start of the tutorial and open up the Mohgwhyn’s Palace rune farming technique.
