The Nether can be a tough place given it’s restrictions on healing. However, there are a few tools in the game that will help you get that health back, so you can safely navigate The Dreadnaught. Today I’m going to cover the top healing methods for the Nether in Destiny 2 Episode Heresy.
It’s worth noting that Bungie said they’re going to do a balance patch on the Nether and that may include these sources of healing. But for now these are very good additional ways of healing, other than the standard ‘pick up healing orbs’ which you’ll find on the Dreadnaught in pots or when enemies die.
Without further delay, let’s dive in, and I’m going to start with weapons. These are tools every Guardian can use.
Weapons
Crimson
This one comes with the perk Cruel Remedy. Kills with this weapon heal the wielder. You can get this one from Xur.
Suros Regime
This comes with a perk called SUROS Legacy. The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health on kill. Also get this one from Xur.
Ruinous Effigy
This one comes with the perk Transmutation, final blows with this weapon collapse victims into Void Transmutation spheres. Then you can block and drain nearby enemies for health. Get this from the Monuments to Lost Light in the Tower, next to your vault in the Courtyard.
Rat King
The catalyst comes with the perk Infestation. Improved aim assist and recoil direction. Refreshes health on Vermin invisibility trigger. Get this one from Xur.
Touch of Malice
This comes with the perk Touch of Malice. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage, drawing from the wielder’s life force, and then regenerates itself. Rapidly defeating 3 targets restores health. Guardians and powerful combatants count as more than one defeated target. Get this from defeating Oryx in the King’s Fall raid, it’s a random drop.
Weapon perks
Unrelenting – Rapidly defeating targets triggers health regeneration. Guardians and powerful combatants count as more than one kill.
Turnabout – Using this weapon to break the shield of a combatant or a Guardian using their Super will grant you an overshield.
Dawning Origin Trait – Defeating targets awards a Dawning gift. Defeated powerful targets count as more than one. Picking up Dawning Gifts grants 10% Grenade, Melee, and Class Ability Energy, restores 22 HP, and starts Health Regeneration.
Aspects
Knockout – Critically wounding a target or breaking their shield infuses your melee attacks with Arc energy and increases your melee range and damage for a short time. Defeating targets with melee attacks makes you amplified and restores a portion of your health. Defeating more powerful combatants increases the amount of health restored.
Exotic armor
Titans are the winners when it comes to exotic armor and healing, with four pieces of exotic armor that help. You can get these all from Master Rahool in the Tower in exchange for materials.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan)
Seriously, Watch Out – Grants an overshield when you’re sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped and charged. Hits with these abilities recharge a portion of your melee energy.
One Eyed Mask (Titan)
Vengeance – Highlights the target who dares to damage you. Track down and destroy them for an overshield.
An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan)
Transfusion Matrix – Final blows with Arc melees trigger health regeneration and fully restore a melee charge. Melee hits grant Arc melee energy.
No Backup Plans (Titan)
Force Multiplier – While you have a Void Super equipped, rapid Shotgun final blows or defeating a powerful combatant with a Shotgun will grant a Void overshield and start health regeneration. While you have a Void overshield, Shotguns deal additional damage, and Shotgun final blows refresh the overshield. Provides a moderate benefit to Shotgun airborne effectiveness and reload speed.
The Nether
There are other ways to heal in the Nether, that includes breaking pots and picking up healing orbs from enemies. However, using some of these tools we have been through today certainly help you stay alive longer.
Let me know in the comments what you think.
