Warlord’s Spear is an Arc Trace Rifle added to Destiny 2 as part of Iron Banner in Episode Heresy. This one comes with some fantastic Arc perks including Jolting Feedback and Detonator Beam, making this one very useful for PVE and decent in PVP too. Today I’m going to check out the stats, perks, god rolls plus how to get Warlord’s Spear in Destiny 2.
How to get Warlord’s Spear
To get this Trace Rifle you’ll need to play Iron Banner and it’s a random drop from the end of Iron Banner matches. In Episode Heresy it’s on Lord Saladin’s reward track at rank 4, so you onlt need to play a few Iron Banner matches to unlock it. You can also focus Iron Banner engrams at Lord Saladin to get additional rolls.

Warlord’s Spear god roll guide
For PVE Fluted Barrel, Light Battery, Rewind Rounds, Detonator Beam, Masterwork Handling
- Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed, Slightly increases stability
- Light Battery – Increases handling speed, Increases reload speed
- Rewind Rounds – When this weapon’s magazine is empty, it refills from reserves based on the number of hits.
- Detonator Beam – Dealing sustained damage creates an explosion around the target.
- Masterwork Handling
For perk slot 1, Rewind Rounds is the go-to as it allows us to maintain the beam on healthier targets and minimises downtime. For perk 2, Detonator Beam is our recommended pick thanks to the burst damage it provides, but Jolting Feedback is also a good way to go if you want to lean into Jolt more.
For PVP Smallbore, Projection Fuse, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Target Lock, Masterwork Range
- Smallbore – Increases range, Increases stability
- Projection Fuse – Increases range
- Dynamic Sway Reduction – Improves accuracy and stability while continuously holding down the trigger.
- Target Lock – Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target.
- Masterwork Range
For PvP, we want to optimise our general weapon performance, so Range and Stability will be the focus, so we recommend Smallbore, Projection Fuse, and a Range Masterwork to boost us to 94 Range (38.9m), and 83 Stability, which will go to 93 with Dynamic Sway Reduction fully stacked.
For perk 1, Dynamic Sway Reduction and High-Impact Reserves are both good. Dynamic Sway Reduction makes Warlord’s Spear easier to use, but High-Impact Reserves can provide that extra punch it might need. For perk 2, Target Lock is our pick as it works great with both of our first perks. Dynamic Sway Reduction helps you stay on target more easily, improving Target Lock’s ease of use, and High-Impact Reserves can stack with Target Lock.
