How to get Mint Retrograde (Rocket Pulse Rifle) plus god roll guide in Destiny 2

Mint Retrograde is a new rocket-assisted Pulse Rifle, added to Destiny 2 in The Edge of Fate expansion. We’ve had rocket-assisted sidearms for a while, and now we have rocket-assisted Pulse Rifles, and they are just as good as the sidearms, if not better. Today I’m going to show you how to get your first rocket assisted Pulse Rifle with the Mint Retrograde, plus look at the stats and the god roll guide in Destiny 2.

How to get Mint Retrograde

To get Mint Retrograde you’ll want to run Pinnacle Ops, and you can find Pinnacles Ops via The Portal. Mint Retrograde is part of the rewards pool for Pinnacle Ops, and it’s a random drop throughout the activity, plus once you defeat the final boss.

Mint Retrograde stats

Mint Retrograde is a Legendary Kinetic Pulse Rifle with a Rocket-Assisted Frame meaning the weapon fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage.

Looking at the stats we have Blast Radius 72, Velocity 59, Stability 42, Handling 20, Reload Speed 25, Rounds Per Minute 200, Magazine 5.

We have two Origin Traits for this one:

Problem Solver – Dealing sustained damage to Champion, miniboss, or boss combatants exhausts them and grants this weapon handling and reload speed.

Vanguard’s Determination – After using your class ability, final blows with this weapon grant you bonus damage resistance.

Mint Retrograde is a very strong weapon, and it’s going to peform great in PVE. Rocket-assisted anything is going to boost your damage output, and Bungie appears to have given this slightly more power out of the gate than intended. They deal roughly x3 damage compared to the rocket sidearms, which is nuts, so I would expect a nerf coming sometime soon, so get to using it while it’s hot. The only issue is the ammo, they don’t have much amy, and I found myself running out of special ammo a fair bit, so if you have any ways of generating special ammo or boosting ammo via mods, then I would use those to pair with this weapon.

Mint Retrograde god roll guide

For PVE Quick Launch, Flared Magwell, Beacon Rounds, Chain Reaction, Masterwork Velocity

  • Quick Launch – Greatly increases handling speed, Increases projectile speed
  • Flared Magwell – Slightly increases stability, Greatly increases reload speed
  • Beacon Rounds – Final blows with this weapon grant your projectiles tracking and increase reload speed. Dealing further damage extends the duration.
  • Chain Reaction – Each final blow with this weapon creates an elemental damage explosion.
  • Masterwork Velocity

For PVP there are definitely better weapons than this to take into PVP.

Let me know what you think about it in the comments.
