How Good Is Fimbulwinter Stitch?

PvE Performance

In PvE, Fimbulwinter Stitch shines when fully leaned into its Arc synergy. Perks that interact with Amplified, Jolt, and ability uptime allow it to excel at clearing groups of enemies and supporting ability-focused builds. With perks like Voltshot and Jolting Feedback, it becomes a reliable option for both ad clear and sustained damage in higher-tier activities. When paired with Arc builds that maintain Amplified, this sidearm performs exceptionally well.

PvP Performance

Precision Frame Sidearms have carved out a solid niche in PvP, and Fimbulwinter Stitch fits comfortably within it. Strong recoil control, combined with perks that enhance Range, Stability, and damage output, make it surprisingly competitive in the Crucible. With the right roll, it can consistently challenge Guardians at mid-range and hold its own in close-quarters engagements.

Fimbulwinter Stitch PvE God Roll

PvE Roll – All-Around

Barrel: Fluted Barrel
Magazine: Appended Mag
Perk 1: Supercharged Magazine (Trickle Charge also viable)
Perk 2: Jolting Feedback (Rolling Storm, Voltshot also strong)
Masterwork: Handling

Fimbulwinter Stitch’s base stats are slightly below average, so Fluted Barrel and Appended Mag help shore up its weaknesses by boosting Handling and magazine size. Handling is especially valuable on sidearms, allowing for quick swaps and fast engagements.

Supercharged Magazine synergizes perfectly with Arc builds, refilling and overflowing the magazine while Amplified or under the effects of Speed Booster. This allows for extended firing without reloading, which pairs seamlessly with Jolting Feedback. Sustained damage applies Jolt, and when Amplified, Jolt triggers in fewer shots—creating devastating chain lightning that clears groups of enemies quickly.

This perk combination performs extremely well across all PvE difficulties, from seasonal content to endgame activities.

PvP Roll – All-Around

Barrel: Smallbore
Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
Perk 1: Rangefinder or Lone Wolf
Perk 2: Precision Instrument (Kill Clip also strong)
Masterwork: Range

This roll maximizes the strengths of Precision Frame Sidearms in PvP. Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds provide meaningful boosts to Range and Stability, making the weapon feel consistent and controllable during firefights.

Rangefinder extends damage falloff and improves accuracy, allowing Fimbulwinter Stitch to remain effective slightly beyond its typical engagement range. Precision Instrument rewards accuracy with a stacking damage bonus of up to 25%, as long as shots are landed consecutively without reloading. For players who prefer a more straightforward damage boost, Kill Clip is an excellent alternative, granting a 25% damage increase after a kill and reload.

With this setup, Fimbulwinter Stitch becomes a reliable and lethal option for Crucible play.
