How to get Conditional Finality (Exotic Raid Shotgun) in Destiny 2

Conditional Finality is the raid exotic shotgun from the Root of Nightmares found on Neomuna. This is one of the most unique exotic weapons in the game and it’s risen to the top of the charts with players in both PVE and PVP content. Today I’m going to run through the stats, perks, plus checkout how to get Conditional Finality in Destiny 2.

How to get Conditional Finality

To get Conditional Finality you’ll need to beat the final boss in the Root of Nightmares Raid, and that’s Nezarec – The Final God of Pain. You have an approximate 3% chance of the weapon dropping for you, and you’ll have 3 chances per week to get the weapon (one on each character you have). Bungie will add Root of Nightmares into the featured raid rotation in the future, and you’ll be able to farm Nezarec, but at the time of making this guide that’s not possible.

You can increase your exotic drop rate for Conditional Finality by completing triumphs in the raid. There is an associated title called Dream Warrior, and there you’ll see various challenges and triumphs with an exotic engram symbol next to them. If you complete these triumphs, your percentage chance will increase.

If you complete all the triumphs then your chances will increase from 3% to 30%, so if you really want to get this exotic shotgun and you don’t want to leave it to the RNG gods, then completing this triumph is the best way of increasing your chances. You don’t have to do this by any means, for example, I’ve only completed the raid 5 times, and I managed to get Conditional Finality to drop for me.

Here are all the triumphs you can complete:

  • Classic Horror – Complete all encounters with a fireteam of the same Guardian class
  • Dream Weavers – Complete all encounters with a fireteam of Strand subclasses
  • Psionic Purge – In Cataclysm, defeat all Psions within one second of each other
  • Shields Up – In Scission, do not defeat any attuned shielded combatants on a floor until both node chains are complete on that same floor
  • Singular Orbit – In Macrocosm, a player cannot gain Planetary Insight twice in the same Planetary Shift.
  • Synchronicity – During the final battle with Nezarec, activate both sets of nodes within five seconds of each other, for every activation, and complete the encounter
  • Illuminated Torment – Complete the Illuminated Torment challenge
  • Crossfire – Complete the Crossfire challenge
  • Cosmic Equilibrium – Complete the Cosmic Equilibrium challenge
  • All Hands – Complete the All Hands challenge

Conditional Finality

Conditional Finality is an Exotic Kinetic Shotgun and looking at the stats we have Impact 80, Range 35, Stability 20, Handling 60, Reload Speed 66, Airborne Effectiveness 4, Rounds Per Minute 55, and Magazine 2.

The exotic perks and traits are as follows:

  • Shortened Barrel – Greatly improves handling at the cost of range and stability
  • Alloy Magazine – Faster reloads when the magazine is empty
  • Textured Grip – Greatly increases handling speed, slightly decreases stability
  • Split Decision – Dual barrels split into Stasis and Solar damage
  • Paracausal Pellets – Landing nearly all Stasis pellets will freeze targets; landing nearly all Solar pellets will ignite targets.

Conditional Finality is a dual element weapon, dealing stasis and solar damage. It has two shots in the magazine; the first one is a stasis shot and the second one is a solar shot. The exotic perk Paracausal Pellets takes this one up a level, as hitting all shots on either round will either freeze or ignite enemies.

We don’t have a catalyst for this weapon yet, however, given the popularity of the weapon I would imagine this is going to get one in The Final Shape expansion release.

This is a great weapon for both Solar and Stasis builds, particularly Solar given you could have all 3 weapon slots dealing Solar damage. I often pair Conditional Finality with energy and power weapons that have Incandescent, paired up with good solar exotic armor and mods.

Let me know what you think of Conditional Finality in the comments.
