How to get Choir of One and Encore Exotic Mission guide in Destiny 2

Choir of One is a new Exotic Auto Rifle added to Destiny 2 as part of Act 3 in Episode Echoes. This is a fantastic Vex themed Auto Rifle which is craftable, plus it’s the reward from the exotic mission called Encore. Today I am going to take a look at the weapon, plus run through a guide for the Encore Exotic mission in Destiny 2.

First of all, let’s have a look at Choir of One.

Choir of One

Choir of One is an Exotic Energy Auto Rifle with a Command Frame meaning it fires extended-range, heavy-caliber projectiles at a reduced rate of fire. Deals increased precision damage when aiming down sights.

It also comes with the perks Fanatical Lance where Rapid final blows cause targets to explode into a pool of radiolarian fluid. Hip firing launches multiple projectiles at once in a slower moving spread pattern. Projectiles detonate on impact.

Next up, let’s have a look at the guide for Encore.

Encore Exotic Mission Guide

First of all you want to be up-to-date with all the story beats in Episode Echoes. Speak to Failsafe in the HELM and you’ll open up the Encore Exotic mission, which is selectable from the HELM menu.

Once you’ve started the mission you’ll be dropped into the location on Nessus where we met The Conductor. Clear out the Vex when you land. From here you can either climb up the ramp to the right hand side, or you can jump down the ravine to the left and enter via the cave.

The next section is a maze, and you’ll want to make your way through. Rathet than tell you where to go, I’ll show you my route through and I’ll meet you at the first encounter.

Create a connection

When you get to the open area you’ll meet The Shadow Legion Cabal. Here we’re going to need to use the Vex technology to create a connection and a pathway through to the core of Nessus. Clear out the Shadow Legion standing in your way. We have a puzzle here, where you have to match the colors. We have some Vex plates that are projecting Vex symbols.

Green: Connection
Yellow: Partition
Blue: Access

In the first encounter we don’t have blue nodes, so you don’t have to worry about those just yet, so we can focus on the green and yellow. Enter the room and pick up the Connection Node. This displays “Vex Module // Connection” at the top of your screen. Then make your way to the plate in the centre of the room and dunk the connection node. This then spawns a vex structure you can interact with, that removes one of the locks, and there are 3 in total.

You can only hold one module at a time and the goal here is to activate the three vex structures by juggling the single Connection Node across the plates.

Vex structure #1: Upper floor plate then Vex structure.
Vex structure #2: Grab upper floor plate then dunk bottom floor plate then enter the new room then kill the Partition Minotaur then dunk Partition (yellow) then grab bottom floor plate and dunk near Partition then Vex structure.
Vex structure #3: Grab bottom floor plate (Connection) then head to the opposite side then climb up then dunk at upper floor plate then Vex structure.

Once all of them are active get the Connection Node one more time and dunk at the first plate. This then reveals the doorway to the corridor, and follow it to the end with the Connection Node.

Dunk the connection module and a Vex laser grid will spawn behind you. You want to turn around and run as fast as you can towards the first room, then grab the connection module and dunk it again right back at the start to complete the encounter.

Chase the Shadow Legion

Once you have finished the encounter a path forward will be revealed. You’ll enter a new area filled with Radiolaria and huge structures. Make your way across the room and use the grav-lifts. Shadow Legion and Vex will be in the next room, kill them until a Partition Minotaur spawns. Kill them and they will drop a Partition module. Pick it up and deposit it near the Vex plate. Go inside and pick up the samples after firing the Vex piston.

Hidden Ishtar Facility

Next we’re going to find ourselves in a hidden Ishtar Facility deep in Nessus’ core. The research station is broken up into various zones by teleporters and we’re going to have to navigate our way through with the access module. First of all clear out the Vex, go round the corner to find the access module. Then dunk it in the corresponding color to activate the portal.

We have another puzzle, and here’s the sequence we need to follow.

Kill a Vex Hydra to spawn an Access Module.
Dunk it at the back-right portal.
Enter the portal. Grab the Access Module you dunked earlier and leave.
Dunk the Access Module in the exit portal.
Don’t enter the portal yet. Look back and grab the Connection Module (green).
Use the exit portal.
Dunk the Connection Module.
Double back through the exit portal you just used.
Grab the Access Module (blue) from the back-right portal.
Use the exit portal once more.
Dunk the Access Module.

Then it’s time to fight the mini-bosses.

Eexonios And Iziira

Next we have to fight a couple of bosses; a Subjugator and a Tormentor. You start the fight against the Subjugator and some Shadow Legion. Focus damage on the boss, then when they are at 2/3 health they will rop an access module. Pick up the module and access the portal. Enter the portal and the Tormentor will appear. Damage it’s shoulders first, then at 2/3 health it will also drop an access module. Get it, and jump through the portal. At this point you’ll get a mid fight checkpoint, which could be new, but is going to be useful if you’re doing this solo. The final part of the fight has you fight against them together. Finish them up, then grab your rewards.

Explore the jungle

Next up we have some Vex to fight, as they are guarding the path forward. It’s a large area, and if you don’t know where to go, look for the enemies, they are providing you clues fo the way to go. Climb the rocks next to the waterfall and clear out the Vex, watch out for the Wyverns and the Hydras.

Disrupt The Choral Mind

Now it’s time for the final boss, a Vex Hyrda that can only be damaged after completing a Vex Module puzzle. When the encounter starts a Minotaur spawns in the middle. Kill them and they drop a command module. Pick it up and dunk it at the center plate. This is going to spawn a Vex structure, interact with it and disrupt the Hyrda’s shield.

Dunk the modules on the side the boss moves to. If it’s on the left, dunk to the left and so on. At the start you’ll only have one module. Select the correct side and a Vex plate will appear, stand on the plate until it’s captured and then destroy the Hyrda’s Shield. This is when we get to the DPS phase. You have about 20 seconds to deal as much damage to the boss as possible, so unload supers, heavy ammo, whatever you have and take down the boss.

You should be able to take down the boss in a few phases, and simply repeat the process with the Vex Modules. Kill the boss and you’ll get the Choir of One Exotic Auto Rifle to drop for you. Inspect the weapon and extract the pattern. Head back to the Tower and pick up the catalyst quest from Banshee-44, plus you’ll need to complete the weekly story to progress.

That’s about it. This is a decent exotic weapon, plus we have an exotic mission full of secrets. It’s not the most difficult exotic mission, and it’s certainly very big. Personally, I love these exotic missions and hopefully we’ll see more like this from Bungie in the future.
