This Arc Warlock build with Fallen Sunstar and Coldheart is one of the most fun and destructive builds in the game right now. It focuses on charging up abilities quickly, allowing you to throw grenades, create rifts, plus electrocute all enemies that stand in your way. Today I’m going to walk through the build with the aspects, fragments, weapons and exotic armor, so you can jolt enemies and amplify your Guardian in Destiny 2.
This build is focused around Fallen Sunstar, Coldheart and creating as many ionic traces as possible. This is going to regenerate abilities very quickly, allowing us to spam grenades and rifts, giving us access to arc buddies, which all add up to increasing overall damage, plus having fun while we’re doing it. Some builds I put together see margainal gains, but this one is very noticeable, and improves the overall gameplay experience. Fallen Sunstar enhances Ionic Traces, making them faster and giving you more ability energy from them. This build also has a support purpose, given you provide everyone in your fireteam with ability energy when you collect Ionic Traces.

Aspects
Arc Soul – Cast your Rift to create an Arc Soul that fires at targets in front of you. Allies can pass through your Rift to get an Arc Soul. Your Rift charges faster when allies are near. While amplified, your Arc Souls are supercharged and gain an increased fire rate.
Electrostatic Mind – Defeating targets with Arc abilities or defeating jolted or blinded targets creates an Ionic Trace. Collecting an Ionic Trace makes you amplified.
Fragments
Spark of Shock – Your Arc grenades jolt targets
Spark of Ions – Defeating a jolted target creates an Ionic Trace.
Spark of Beacons – While you are amplified, your Arc Special weapon final blows create a blinding explosion.
Spark of Resistance – While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage.
Exotic Armor – Fallen Sunstar
Fallen Sunstar is an Exotic Helmet for Warlocks
Ionic Conductor – Ionic traces you create move faster and grant you additional ability energy. Nearby allies also gain ability energy when you collect an ionic trace.
Weapons
Kinetic – Warden’s Law
Warden’s Law is a Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon with a Heavy Burst meaning it fires a hard-hitting, two-round burst. We have a couple of origin traits to choose from including
- Stunning Recovery – Stunning a Champion partially refills your magazine, triggers health regeneration, and improves recovery for a short duration.
- Vanguard’s Vindication – Final blows with this weapon grant a small amount of health.
Energy – Coldheart
Coldheart is an Exotic Energy Trace Rifle with the exotic perks
- Cold Fusion – This weapon shoots a steady cold-fusion-powered Arc laser, dealing more damage the longer it remains on a target.
- Longest Winter – Periodically generates Ionic Traces while in its high-damage state.
Power – Terminus Horizon
Terminus Horizon is a Legendary Power Machine Gun with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow firing and high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary, moving slowly, and aiming down sights. For PVE Triple Tap, Target Lock or Voltshot would be good. Triple Tap – Rapidly landing precision hits will return one round to the magazine. Target Lock – Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target. Voltshot is also available if you are looking to run a decent Arc build. Eleatic Principle is a good alternative from Season of the Witch.
Mods
Head – Harmonic Siphon, Radiant Light, Dynamo,
Arms – Firepower, Bolstering Detonation
Chest – Harmonic Resistance, Concussive Dampener, Melee Damage Resistance
Legs – Arc weapon surge, Elemental Charge,
Class Item – Bomber, Reaper
Gameplay
Given the importance of Ionic Traces, we need to create them. The combination of Electrostatic Mind Aspect and Coldheart Exotic Trace Rifle do this really well. Electrostatic Mind is where defeating targets with Arc abilities or defeating jolted or blinded targets creates an Ionic Trace. Our pulse grenades jolt targets, then defeating those targets generate Ionic Traces. Coldheart also generates Ionic Traces in the high-damage state. Spark of Ions and Spark of Shock also helps create more Ionic Traces.
There are a few other improvements with fragments and mods that make this build even better. Our Arc Soul aspect helps our arc buddies get supercharged and fire much faster. Spark of Beacons create an blinding explosion from arc special weapon final blows, and we’re using Coldheart which also periodically generates Ionic Traces, which tops up your abilities energy meaning more grandes, more rifts and jolted targets. Regarding mods Bomber is going to improve grenades. Firepower helps us generate Orbs of Power, which means more super, plus dynamo gives us super energy too. More super egenrgy, means more supers, and chaos reach does a LOT of damage.
