Strand Warlock is already one of the strongest control subclasses in Destiny 2, but most builds still have the same problem: they lock enemies down, but they don’t always keep you alive while doing it. Suspension is powerful, but survivability has often felt like the missing piece.
That’s exactly what changes with this build. The Deimosafusion exotic turns Strand Warlock into a self-sustaining control monster, where suspending enemies not only disables entire rooms, but actively heals you at the same time. After a few minutes of gameplay, it becomes clear this isn’t just another Strand setup — it’s one of the most oppressive and toxic builds Warlock has ever had.
Why You Should Use This Build
The first and most obvious reason to use this build is control. Suspension is already one of the strongest crowd-control tools in Destiny 2, and this setup pushes it to an extreme. Casting your rift suspends nearby enemies, Weaver’s Trance causes suspending detonations on final blows, and threadlings continue the chain as enemies are picked off. Once a fight starts, enemies rarely get a chance to fight back at all.
The second reason is survivability. Deimosafusion doesn’t just suspend enemies — it actively heals you for every suspended target, with an even larger burst of healing when those enemies are defeated. Because the damage over time and healing apply to any suspended enemy, not just those suspended by your rift, the build creates a constant feedback loop of damage, crowd control, and health regeneration. The more enemies you lock down, the safer you become.
Finally, the build has incredible momentum. You’re not sitting back waiting for abilities to recharge. You consume your grenade to enter Weaver’s Trance, push aggressively into groups, suspend everything with your rift, activate Weavewalk for massive damage resistance, and let threadlings do the work while you reposition. When you re-enter combat, you’re still protected by Woven Mail, still generating suspensions, and still healing. The loop feels deliberate, powerful, and very hard to interrupt.
Strand Warlock Build – 5 Bullet Summary (Crucial Elements)
Core Exotic: Deimosafusion causes your rift to suspend nearby enemies when a Strand super is equipped, dealing damage over time and continuously healing you from every suspended target.
Service of Luzaku: Hitting targets with this weapon builds a restorative charge. Hip firing at allies while this weapon is charged heals them, does not expend ammo, and fills this weapon’s magazine from reserves. Rapid healing increases weapon damage and spawns Threadlings from your allies. Also, final blows with this weapon create a Threadling nest that periodically spawns Threadlings. Final blows with this weapon near an existing Threadling nest create a Threadling instead.
Primary Loop: Consume your shackle grenade for Weaver’s Trance, suspend enemies on final blows, cast rift to lock down rooms, then activate Weavewalk for massive damage resistance and threadling generation.
Survivability Engine: Healing scales with the number of suspended enemies, with bonus healing on kills, creating a constant loop of crowd control, damage over time, and health regeneration.
Subclass Synergy: Weavewalk + Mindspun Invocation keeps enemies immobilised while you reposition safely, then re-enter combat with Woven Mail and a swarm of threadlings.
Build Focus: High grenade, melee, and class ability stats to maintain Weaver’s Trance, Weavewalk, and rift uptime, ensuring suspensions never stop.
How the Build Works
At its core, this is a full Strand Warlock build centered around Weaver’s Trance, Weavewalk, and constant suspension uptime. With a Strand super equipped, Deimosafusion causes your rift to suspend nearby enemies in a wide radius. Suspended enemies take damage over time, take extra damage when they break free, and continuously heal you while they’re trapped.
The real power comes from combining this with Mindspun Invocation and Weavewalk. By consuming your shackle grenade, you enter Weaver’s Trance for a long duration. While active, every final blow triggers a suspending detonation, meaning suspensions spread naturally as enemies die. The ideal loop is to activate Weaver’s Trance before engaging, push into enemies, cast your rift to suspend everything instantly, and then enter Weavewalk.
While in Weavewalk, you gain massive damage resistance and continuously generate threadlings as you move around the battlefield. When you exit, you gain Woven Mail, allowing you to safely re-engage while your threadlings and suspensions continue doing work. Because Weaver’s Trance is still active, enemies remain locked down and the chain never really stops.
Fragments, Stats, and Weapons
The fragment setup is all about extending and rewarding suspension. Thread of Continuity increases suspension duration significantly, which is crucial for keeping enemies locked down longer. When paired with the Collective Psyche armor set, this duration is pushed even further, making suspensions feel almost permanent. Thread of Evolution boosts threadling damage and travel distance, turning them into a real source of pressure instead of background noise.
Thread of Generation helps maintain grenade uptime by refunding energy when taking damage, while Thread of Mind feeds class ability energy when defeating suspended enemies. This ensures your rift — and therefore your suspensions — are always coming back. The final fragment, Thread of Fury, provides melee energy through tangles, rounding out the ability loop.
Stat-wise, grenade, melee, and class ability are the clear priorities. The goal is to minimize cooldowns on Weaver’s Trance, Weavewalk, and your rift so the loop never breaks. Font mods can easily help bridge any gaps if your armor isn’t perfect.
Weapon choices should reinforce uptime and damage over time. Mint Retrograde is good in the Kinetic slot, which comes with strand perks. In the energy slot I’d go for a any primary that is working well for you, I am using one of the heat weapons from Renegades, but you can use what you think is best here. For legendaries, perks like Demolitionist, Pugilist, Strategist, and Hatchling fit naturally into the build. In the heavy slot use the Service of Luzaku Machine Gun.
How This Build Makes Destiny 2 Better
This build highlights how strong Destiny 2 feels when control, survivability, and aggression are all rewarded at the same time. Instead of relying on burst damage or panic healing, you’re encouraged to engage enemies directly and lock them down through smart ability usage. Every part of the build feeds into the next, creating a loop that feels intentional rather than accidental.
It also reinforces the fantasy of Strand as a battlefield manipulation subclass. You’re not just killing enemies — you’re denying them the ability to act at all. Suspensions, threadlings, damage over time, and healing all happen naturally as part of the same system, making the gameplay feel fluid and purposeful.
More than anything, this is the kind of build that feels fun to play repeatedly. It doesn’t just make content easier — it makes it more engaging. When Destiny leans into builds like this, the game feels deeper, more rewarding, and far more satisfying.
Strand Warlock was already strong, but Deimosafusion pushes it into a completely new tier. If you enjoy controlling fights, overwhelming enemies, and playing aggressively without feeling fragile, this build is absolutely worth trying.
Once Renegades fully launches and we have access to new artifact mods and gear, this setup is only going to get stronger. Make sure to check back for updates, and let me know what Strand builds you’re most excited to run.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one.
