Today Bungie showed of their second Into The Light reveal stream, and this time it was focused on weapons. We have a whole bunch of fan-favourite weapons returning for Into The Light, and they were some of the strongest weapons we’ve ever seen in Destiny 2. Today I’m going to recap the highlights from the Into The Light Stream to let you know what weapons are coming back, plus we’ve got a new social space coming to Destiny 2.

Hall of Champions (New Social Space)
This a new space where we can interact with Lord Shaxx, pick up quests and open up chests. The space itself is full of statues of Shaxx and Lord Saladin, and here we can redeem currency awarded from Onslaught. Shaxx is our main vendor, plus we have the return of the Gift of the Thundergods – this is going to act as a catch up mechanic for Guardians, raising our power level to the powerful cap. Shaxx has a level up mechanic, which includes the Super Black Shader, available in Destiny 2 for the first time.
Arcite is another vendor, who’s going to allow us to pick up weapon quests. From these quests drop curated versions of the Brave weapon arsenal, which include a shiny ornament (gold). We can also attune to specific weapons, allowing us to alter RNG to get specific weapons to drop for us, or at least increase the chance for weapons to drop.
We have a whole load of weapons returning to Destiny 2, from an era where these weapons were super strong. Let’s have a look at what’s coming back, plus some of the changes Bungie are making.
Brave Arsenal weapons
Recluse – This was a deadly submachine gun, which we could acquire from Cruicble back in the Forsaken era. The difference maker here was Master At Arms, where kills with any weapon improve this weapon’s damage for a short time. Master At Arms has been toned down for the current sandbox, but Bungie didn’t go into to details on how Master At Arms has changed.
Mountaintop – Moutaintop became the bain of many people’s live in PVP for a long time in Forsaken, before it was eventually sunset in Beyond Light. This was mainly down to the perk Micro-missle where this weapon fires in a straight line and has a massively increased projectile speed. Bungie has reworked this slightly, to remove the 1 hit kill ability with the new version of Mountaintop.
Luna’s Howl – This had a very destructive perk called Magnificient Howl where rapidly landing two precision shots increases the next shot’s damage and range for a short duration. This one has seen a rework, it’s now a 140 RPM, retains precision frame. Magnificient Howl perk has seen a rework, now you build up precision stacks.
Blast Furnance – Another Black Armory weapon, this one is a Pulse Rifle. Can roll barrels instead of scopes. Headseeker/kill clip good roll.
Midnight Coup – This was a Hand Cannon from the Leviathan Raid. Firefly and Kinetic Tremors looks very good for this weapon.
Hung Jury – This is a Scout Rifle from Destiny 1 and 2, a very good Scout and will be worth farming.
Succession – This one is a raid Sniper from the Deep Stone Crypt, this is going to be free of the first time. Reconstruction and Vorpal Weapon was a decent roll combination for PVP on this one.
Elsie’s Rifle – This is a Pulse Rifle from Destiny 1, previously known as The Stranger’s Rifle, similar to No Time To Explain. Comes with Rewind Rounds.
Forbearance – This is a raid weapon from Vow from Witch Queen. This is a great wave frame grenade launcher, also free for the first time for all players. Chain reaction, disruption break looks good on this one.
Falling Guillotine – This is a legendary sword, with a spin attack. This is a very good void sword. It’s a Vortex Frame where you can launch a heavy spin attack and heavy attacks are stronger with full energy and attacks partially bypass elemental shields.
Edge Transit – This is a heavy grenade launcher. This was a very powerful weapon when it originally released, but also a meme. Given the current state of heavy grenade launchers, this one is going to be a monster. Cascade point on this one is very effective.
Hammerhead – This one was many people’s favourite machine gun. It’s an adaptive frame, plus 450 rounds per minute machine gun with 60 in the magazine.
We have a new origin trait Indomintability where final blows with a light subclass grant grenade energy, dark subclass grant melee energy. Double perks are available, there’s a chance of them dropping from Onslaught. Limited Edition weapons can drop, but you can get a guaranteed drop by speaking to Arcite, the vendor in the Hall of Heroes. Brave arsenal drops from every set, which is every 10 rounds.
In other news we’ve got 100 vault slots coming with The Final Shape. The weapons aren’t going to be craftable, but we will be able to enhance these weapons later in The Final Shape (more on that to follow). All weapons are going to be free for all players, including the raid weapons in the 12 weapons for the Brave Arsenal.
Next week we have info related to an Exotic mission coming back, which should hopefully be The Whisper mission with a craftable Whisper of the Worm. Plus we’re going to deep dive into the new PVP maps, and maybe some more surprises too. Hoepfully revamped Garden of Salvation weapons will be included in that last point!
Let me know what you think of the returning weapons, plus is this going to bring you back to Destiny 2 for the Into The Light Update.
