Iron Banner is here in Episode Heresy, and there’s plenty of good loot to collect. Today I’m going to check out some of the best weapons to collect, plus I’m going to highlight some of the best rolls to look out for while Iron Banner is around in Destiny 2.
Before we start, Iron Banner is available from 18th Feb – 25th Feb, then it will return later in the Episode. At the time of publishing this guide there’s plenty of time to get some decent rolls for PVP and PVE, plus Iron Banner will be back later during Heresy.
How to get Iron Banner weapons
To get Iron Banner loot it’s simple, play Iron Banner matches, get random drops from the end of matches, plus you can focus your Iron Banner engrams at Saladin in the Tower. He’s right there when you land at the courtyard, you can’t miss him. All weapons have Skulking Wolf as the origin trait. That means while at low health, Guardian final blows with this weapon grant enhanced radar and remove you from opposing radar.
Let’s check out some of the best rolls to get.
Warlord’s Spear (Trace Rifle)
We have a new Adaptive Frame Arc Trace Rifle called Warlord’s Spear with perk combos for PvE as interesting as Rewind Rounds and Detonator Beam. For PvP, don’t sleep on Dynamic Sway Reduction and Desperate Measures.
Peacebond (Sidearm)
The other new reward is a reprised Peacebond, the Adaptive Frame Stasis Sidearm. Zen Moment and Desperado make a great combo for PvP, although others might be more interested in Lone Wolf and Headseeker.
Tinasha’s Mastery (Rocket-assisted Sidearm)
Tinasha’s Mastery is a Stasis Rocket Sidearm. This Iron Banner reward has a collection of great perks that make it a must-have for PvE players and one that Crucible veterans should consider investigating. If you can find a god roll, hold onto it, as it may be your key to clearing out Champions with ease.
For PVE Quick Launch, Tactical Mag, Loose Change, Chill Clip, Masterwork Velocity
Loose Change – Applying an elemental debuff to a target increases this weapon’s reload speed, aim assist, and movement while aiming down sights for a short duration.
Chill Clip – Direct hits with the top half of the magazine cause a detonation that slows nearby targets.
In PVP, there are probably much better options than a rocket-assisted sidearm, however, if you insist then I would go for Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, Impulse Amplifier and Desperate Measures.
Impulse Amplifier – Massively increases projectile velocity, increases reload speed.
Desperate Measures – Weapon final blows grant bonus damage. Melee and grenade final blows grant a larger damage bonus that can stack.
Archon’s Thunder (Machine Gun)
Archon’s Thunder Legendary Power Machine Gun with a High-Impact Frame meaning the weapon is slow-firing and has high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Looking at the stats we have Impact 70, Range 68, Stability 25, Handling 40, Reload Speed 40, Rounds Per Minute 360, and Magazine 44.
For PVE Rangefinder and Rampage would be a good roll. Mulligan and Thresh would also be a good roll for PvE. For PVP Quickdraw and Snapshot Sights would be good, or there is Killing Wind and Iron Grip.
Crimil’s Dagger (Hand Cannon)
Crimil’s Dagger is a Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon with an Aggressive Frame meaning it has high damage, high recoil. Optimized for long-distance shooting.
For PVE Fastdraw HCS, Appended Mag, Outlaw, and Kill Clip would be good.
Outlaw – Precision kills greatly decrease reload time.
Kill Clip – Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
For PVP Crossfire HCS, Accurized Rounds, Rangefinder, and Opening Shot would be good.
Rangefinder – Aiming this weapon increases its effective range and zoom magnification.
Opening Shot – Increased damage on the opening shot of the attack
Claws of the Wolf (Pulse Rifle)
Claws of the Wolf is a Legendary Energy Pulse Rifle with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when magazine is empty.
For PVE Arrowhead Brake, Flared Magwell, Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds would be good.
Arrowhead Brake – Greatly controls recoil, Increases handling speed
Flared Magwell – Slightly increases stability, Greatly increases reload speed
Repulsor Brace – Defeating a Void-debuffed target grants an overshield.
Destabilizing Rounds – Final blows cause nearby targets to become volatile.
For PVP Arrowhead Brake, Ricochet Rounds, Headseeker and Zen Moment would be good.
Arrowhead Brake – Greatly controls recoil, Increases handling speed
Ricochet Rounds – Increases stability, Slightly increases range
Headseeker – Body shots landed with this weapon increase precision damage and aim assist for a short time. Body shots landed while the perk is active refresh the time.
Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
