How to get Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst in Destiny 2

The Two-Tailed Fox Exotic Rocket Launcher has been given a welcome upgrade, with the addition of a 3rd arc rocket due to the Third Tail perk granted by the Catalyst. Today I want to walk through how to get the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst, how to level it up nice and quickly, plus what the catalyst does, so you pack a punch with your Two-Tailed Fox exotic rocket launched in Destiny 2.

How to get the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst

To get the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst you’ll want to run playlist activities in Destiny 2 including Vanguard Ops, Cruicble and Gambit. I managed to get this to drop for me during some Gambit, but it can equally appear from other core playlist activities. There’s nothing you can do to make this drop for you, other than have Two-Tailed Fox in your inventory first, it’s all down to RNG, so get that rocket launcher, and complete as many of those activities as you and you’ll get that catalyst to drop for you.

How to level up the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst

Before you can equip the catalyst you’ll need to level it up, and you’ll need to get 350 kills with Two-Tailed Fox.

The most efficient way to get this done is the Shruo Chi checkpoint in the Last Wish Raid, this is because tens of enemies spawn, and you can take them out nice and easily using Two-Tailed Fox. It’s best to stock up on raid banners, and you can get these from Hawthorn in the Tower. I’ll put the route to the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid at the end of this guide, simply follow that, input the code at the wishing wall and you’ll be teleported to the farming location.

Altars of Sorrow is another good location, you can find this on the moon. The start of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon is another good place, plus you have plenty of Lost Sectors all over the planets and the moons. Blind Well is another good alternative, which can be found on the Dreaming City. Ideally you want to run activities solo, so you can maximize the amount of enemies you are killing. Given you have to kill 350, you don’t want to be sharing kills in Vanguard Ops or any other activity, as that’s going to slow down your progress. If you want to get this done fast, get in there with solo activities and get those 350 kills.

What does the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst do?

The catalyst add a new perk called Third Tail to the Two-Tailed Fox Exotic Rocket Launcher. This adds an additional arc rocket to the second volley of rockets, and this rocket jolts targets, making it very good for void builds.

Two-Tailed Fox

Let’s have a quick reminder of the exotic itself.

Two-Tailed Fox is an Exotic Power Rocket Launcher, which is quite unique as it shoots both Solar and Void rockets together. Now with the catalyst, it completes the light set with a trio of rockets.

Twintails – Shoots two rockets, one Void and one Solar, that can track onto the same target.
Play with Your Prey. The Void rocket suppresses enemies. The Solar rocket causes damage over time.

To get this one you can pick it up from Xur when he’s selling it, or you can get it from random drops of exotic engrams.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the Two-Tailed Fox Catalyst.
