Fallen Sunstar has been added to Destiny 2 in Season of the Plunder and together with Arc 3.0 and the Warlock class, we can create a Guardian with near unlimited abilities, meaning grenades, rifts, arc buddies, and electrified melee attacks fairly constantly. Pair that up with Arc weapons, and you’ll by frying everything in your path. Today I am going to walk through this devastating build for Warlocks, look at the Arc 3.0 setup, the exotic armor, weapons and mods, so you too can run around the solar system as an electrifying Warlock, spamming abilities at all enemies who get in your way.
Without any delay, let’s dive into the Warlock Arc 3.0 build.
Arc 3.0 Setup
Super: Stormtrance
Grenade: Arcbolt
Melee: Chain Lightning
Class Ability: Healing Rift
Aspects
Arc Soul – Cast your Rift to create an Arc Soul that fires at targets in front of you. Allies can pass through your Rift to get an Arc Soul. Your Rift charges faster when allies are near. While amplified, your Arc Souls are supercharged and gain increased fire rate.
Electrostatic Mind – Defeating targets with Arc abilities or defeating jolted or blinded targets creates an Ionic Trace. Collecting an Ionic Trace makes you amplified.
Fragments
- Spark of Shock – Your arc grenade jolts targets. -10 Discipline
- Spark of Focus – After sprinting for a short time, your class ability regeneration is increased
- Spark of Frequency – Melee hits greatly increase reload speed for a short duration
- Spark of Discharge – Arc Weapon final blows have a chance to create an Ionic Trace
Exotic Armor – Fallen Sunstar
Fallen Sunstar comes with the exotic perk Ionic Conductor – Ionic traces you create move faster and grant you additional ability energy. Nearby allies also gain ability energy when you collect an ionic trace.
This is the key to the build and is going to allow us to have our abilities up almost constantly, allowing us to throw grenades, generate a supporting arc soul through our rift and use our melee.
How to get Fallen Sunstar
Fallen Sunstar is one of the newer Exotic pieces of armour introduced in Season 18. Previous to Beyond Light and these newer armour pieces being introduced, Exotic armour was acquired at random through Exotic engrams or campaign story content. Now, there’s a way to target farm Exotic armour pieces through Legend and Master Lost Sectors. If you complete these activities solo, then there’s a chance at the Exotic armour to drop for you. Every day the Legend and Master Lost Sectors rotate, with two available each day across the planets and moons.
As well as the location for Legend and Master Lost Sectors rotating, the rewards rotate too with different armour pieces for the head, arms, chest, and legs. If you want to check the location and the rewards, then you can do so in-game by completing the Lost Sectors on the regular difficulty, and then check on the map. The Legend and Master Lost sectors are indicated as a blue shield icon. Another good way to check is a great tool called todayindestiny.com. This will quickly tell you what the location is, plus what the reward is.
To get Fallen Sunstar, you want to look out for the Exotic Helm Reward. Then if you complete the Legend or Master Lost Sector Solo as a Warlock, you’ll have a chance for that exotic.
Weapons
Kinetic – Blood Feud
Blood Feud is a Submachine Gun introduced in Season of the Plunder. This one has decent range for an SMG. The kinetic slot is up to you, so pick a weapon you enjoy using. You can get Blood Feud as a reward from Ketchcrash, which can be found in the H.E.L.M.
Energy – Delicate Tomb
Delicate Tomb is an Exotic Energy Fusion Rifle dealing Arc damage. Looking at the perks you have
Traitor’s Vessel – Fires a wide horizontal spread when shot from the hip. Final blows with this weapon have a chance to generate Ionic Traces. Powerful foes and opposing Guardians always generate Ionic Traces.
Tempest Cascade – Collecting an Ionic Trace overcharges this weapon’s next shot, jolting targets on hit.
This is going to work great with the build given it generates Ionic Traces and restores our ability energy.
Power – Sailspy Pitchglass
This is another Arc weapon which is going to go great with the build. It’s another seasonal weapon from Season of the Plunder, but if you have another Arc power weapon you like using, then feel free to do so. The important thing for the build is you use Arc weapons.
Mods
- Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
- Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
- Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage
- Well of Striking – Picking up an Arc elemental well grants you additional melee energy. Multiple copies of this mod increase this effect.
- Outreach – Reduces melee cooldown when using your class ability.
- Distribution – Reduces all ability cooldowns when using your class ability near targets.
Gameplay loop
- Create Ionic Traces through Arc ability and weapon kills
- Get amplified
- Generate abilities
- Create Arc Souls
- Increase damage
This Warlock Arc 3.0 build is going to help us have constant ability energy, allowing us to throw grenades, electrify enemies with our melee and generate Arc Souls to help us in combat. This is made possible by the new Exotic in Season of the Plunder called Fallen Sunstar, which is a powerful Warlock helm.
The key to this build are Ionic Traces. We’re going to be generating Ionic Traces through defeating enemies with Arc abilities thanks to Electrostatic Mind, and also through defeating enemies with Arc weapons thanks to Spark of Discharge. Fallen Sunstar is going to help us get super charged through Ionic Conductor which is going to have those Ionic Traces coming to us faster, and giving us more ability energy, topping up all abilities faster.
When we collect Ionic Traces we’re going to get Amplified. This is a new Arc 3.0 keyword. An amplified Guardian is faster—both in terms of movement speed and in terms of their weapon handling—and more agile, able to perform long slides that can function as a devastating setup for some of the attacks that follow.
Given we’re going to have abiltiies up a lot of the time, you want to be placing down rifts and creating Arc Souls to help out in battle. Keep dropping rifts and you will be able to create multiple Arc Souls, which are going to help clean up rooms of smaller enemies and apply constant damage to yellow bars and bosses. As we have our abilities up all the time, we can throw grenades, which will kill enemies, and also create Arc Elemental Wells, which in turn are going to help top up our abilities even more. Plus we’re going to charge up our damage output through our elemental well mods
Let me know in the comments what you think of this build, and let me know if you have any improvements.
