Star Baker is the latest title in Destiny 2, which arrived for The Dawning event this year. As well as the title itself, there are plenty of rewards along the way, and today I’m going to dive into how to get the Star Baker Titles, plus some tips on how to complete all the triumphs nice and quickly.
You can find your seals and titles when you open up your character screen and navigate to the left. You’ll see the Star Baker Title bottom left of the list, and that’s where you can cross reference your objectives for the event.
Let’s dive into each of the triumphs and check out some tips for each one.
Dawn of the Dawning
First one is nice and easy, and part of the introduction quest. Take the ingredients, combine them in the oven and bake a cookie for Zavala. Give it to him, and that’s it.
Amateur Baker
Next up we have Amateur Baker, and for this you need to bake 6 cookies. You can follow the event quest if you want, that made it easier for me.
Adept Baker
Moving onto Adept Baker, this time you have to bake 13 cookies.
Expert Baker
Then we have Expert Baker, this time you have to bake 20 cookies. There are 22 cookies in total and you have to bake one of each, baking the same one every time doesn’t work. Regarding baking cookies you are going to see plenty of Essence of Dawning and ingredients. Essence of Dawning can be farmed from The Investigation mission in the Witch Queen Campaign, or you can do strikes, cruicble and gambit matches. Given you have to do playlist activities for other triumphs, then it’s worth doing those activities. If you want to farm for ingredients Altars of Sorrow is a good bet, which can be found on the moon.
Shopping Spree
For this you have to purchase 12 upgrades from Eva with Dawning Spirit. You’ll want to get the first few upgrades ASAP, as one of them allows you to randomly get Dawning Spirit through kills. This is a perk from using the Exotic Ship Starfarer 7M. You can purchase the full upgrade from Eva this season. To purchase the upgrades you’ll need Dawning Spirit, which can be acquired from delivery cookies. This triumph took the longest for me, and I farmed out Essence of Dawning from The Investigation Mission in the Witch Queen campaign, then baked a whole bunch of cookies. You can also get Dawning Spirit from completing Dawning Bounties from Eva.
Snowball Ops
For this one you have to defeat 100 combatants with snowballs in the Vanguard Ops playlist. This one doesn’t take too long, but jump into Vanguard Ops and watch out for the piles of snowballs, and kill as many enemies as possible.
Snowball Dares
This is similar to the previous one. For this one you have to defeat 100 combatants with snowballs in Dares of Eternity.
Thundersnow
Defeat combatants or Guardians with Arc Weapons or abilities. For this one, I equipped my Arc subclass, used Arc weapons in my energy and power slots, and paired this up with Vanguard Ops runs, or Throne World Acitivities, this way you can be working towards more than one triumph at the same time. Trinity Ghoul and Riskrunner is really useful here.
Deep Freeze
Defeat combatants or Guardians with Stasis weapons or abilities. For this one put on your stasis subclass and weapons, and head into Vanguard Ops, Gambit, Cruicble, or Throne World activities. Similar to the last one, try and make progress on multiple triumphs at the same time.
Snowmelt
Defeat combatants or Guardians with Solar weapons or abilities. Same as before, but on your Solar weapons and subclass and complete Vanguard Ops, Gambit, Cruicble, or Throne World activities.
They Call it Snow
Defeat combatants or Guardians with Void weapons or abilities. Same as before, but on your Void weapons and subclass and complete Vanguard Ops, Gambit, Cruicble, or Throne World activities.
Vanguard Eternity
Complete Vanguard Ops or Dares of Eternity activities. Vanguard Ops give you slightly more with 17% completion rate, compared to Dares which give you 16%. For this one I’d say Vanguard Ops are probably shorter activities, so if you want to get this done quickly, that would be my advice.
Competitive Spirit
Complete Crucible or Gambit matches. I did this one in Gambit, that was the quicker playlist to complete activities. If Mayhem is available, then that would be the best option, but Mayhem isn’t guaranteed as a cruicble playlist option.
Nightmare Seraph Before Dawning
Complete Nightmare Containments or Heist Battlegrounds. Nightmare Containments are definitely the shorter activity here, Heist Battlegrounds are very long, over 20 mins. Nightmare Containments have the advantage of being public events, so you can load in and one may be in progress. If you are lucky a team will already be on Tier III, meaning you can get in there quickly and complete this triumph.
When Light Comes to Dawn-ing
Complete activities in Savathun’s Throne World. For this one I completed Lost Sectors over and over again. I paired this up with subclass kills, for example, getting arc, solar, stasis and void kills, making sure I was always making progress on multiple triumphs.
Bake-extravaganza
Bake 50 cookies. This one is going to drain your materials, but is fairly straight forward. You can run through the main quest which will have you baking and delivery cookies to vendors. However, you can cook the same cookie over and over again, so if you can find a good farming spot, for example, the opeing to the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, or Altars of Sorrow on the Moon, farm the hive for ingredients and use them to bake easy cookies. Dark Chocolate Motes require Vex Milk and Null Taste, both of which can be gathered from the Shuro Chi checkpoint.
You will need loads of Essence of Dawning, for that I would farm the Investigation mission, or you could speed run the Lake of Shawdows Strike on the EDZ. Gambit is also a quick way to farm Essence of Dawning if you end up getting bored doing the same thing over and over again.
Then we have the guilded triumphs, which you can do if you want to. These are just variations on previous triumphs under the general theme of do more.
