How to get the Rime-coat Rainment plus Warlock Stasis build in Destiny 2

Rime-coat Rainment is a new additon to the Warlock Exotic arsenal, and it powers up our Stasis and Prismatic builds through enhancing our Bleak Watcher Turrets. This is one of the best stasis warlock builds there is in the game and it instantly makes stasis more fun. Today I’m going to run through the build, why it’s good, how to get the exotic armor and why you should try it in Destiny 2.

How to get the Rime-coat Rainment

To get this one you’ll need to reset your rank with Master Rahool in the Tower, which means ranking up past rank 16 and collecting the rank rewards. Then navigate to the 4th page on the right hand side and select Rime-coat Rainment and trade in the required materials.

Why this build is good

This is a great build because it makes stasis feel strong. I don’t know about you, but when I have run stasis in the past, it just felt weaker than other subclasses. This build is going to change your mind about stasis. There are 2 key components to the build, Rime-coat Rainment and Wikid Implement, although you could swap out Wikid Implement for another Stasis Scout Rifle with Headstone.

Rime-coat Rainment has a perk called Bleak Domain. Your Bleak Watcher turrets are enhanced with extended range and are surrounded by Stasis crystals and a storm. While standing in the storm, you are granted icicles over time. Icicles activate when you fire your weapons, applying Slow to targets they hit.

Osmiomancy Gloves have been the king of warlock stasis builds in the past, but Rime-coat Rainment are going to give Osmiomancy Gloves a run for their money. Combined with Whisper of Shards and Wikid Implement this is going to have you freezing all of your enemies to death with Stasis.

Rime-coat Rainment Warlock Stasis build

Subclass – Stasis

Healing Rift – Conjure a well of power that continuously heals those inside it.
Penumbral Blast – Raise your Stasis staff against your foe. Send a blast of [Stasis] Stasis forward to freeze your targets.
Duskfield Grenade – A grenade that shatters on impact, leaving behind a field that slows targets and freezes those who do not leave the volume.

Aspects

Glacial Harvest – Freezing targets creates Stasis shards around the frozen targets. Higher tier combatants create more shards. While Glacial Harvest is equipped, picking up Stasis shards grants stacks of Frost Armor.

Bleak Watcher – Hold to convert your grenade into a Stasis turret that fires slowing projectiles at nearby targets.

Fragments

  • Whisper of Fissures – Increases the damage and size of the burst of Stasis when you destroy a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.
  • Whisper of Rending – Primary ammo weapons do increased damage to Stasis crystals and frozen targets.
  • Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit.
  • Whisper of Durance – Slow that you apply to targets lasts longer. For those abilities that linger, their duration will also increase.

Weapons

Primary – Wicked Implement

Creeping Attrition – Rapidly landing precision hits causes targets to become slowed.

Tithing Harvest – While Creeping Attrition is active, destroying Stasis crystals or landing precision final blows creates a Stasis shard. The Stasis shard returns to you, and collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine.

You can get this one from the Monuments to Lost Lights in the Tower.

Energy – Indebted Kindness

Indebted Kindness is a Legendary Energy Sidearm with a Rocket-Assisted Frame means sidearm fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage.

This one has the Origin Trait Sundering which means destroying vehicles and constructs grants this weapon bonus reload speed and charge rate. Constructs include barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field.

You can get this one from the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon.

Power – Chill Inhibitor

VS Chill Inhibitor is a stasis rapid-fire heavy grenade launcher, meaning it has deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when magazine is empty. The Origin Trait is Bray Legacy. Dealing damage regenerates a small amount of ability energy. For PVE Quick Launch, Spike Grenades, Envious Arsenal, Bait and Switch would be good.

You can get this one from the Vesper’s Host Dungeon.

Exotic Armor – Rime-coat Rainment

Bleak Domain – Your Bleak Watcher turrets are enhanced with extended range and are surrounded by Stasis crystals and a storm. While standing in the storm, you are granted icicles over time. Icicles activate when you fire your weapons, applying Slow to targets they hit.

Mods

  • Heavy Ammo Scout – When one of your ammo finder perks creates a brick of Heavy ammo for you, it also creates bricks of Heavy ammo for your allies.
  • Heavy Ammo Finder – Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo upon defeat of an opponent.
  • Bolstering Detonation – Grants class ability energy when you cause damage with a grenade.
  • Grenade Kickstart – Collecting an Orb of Power causes you to gain 1 temporary Armor Charge.
  • Arc/Solar/Void Resistance
  • Innervation – Reduces grenade cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Power.
  • Recuperation – Replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Power.
  • Elemental Charge – Collecting a Firesprite, Ionic Trace, Stasis shard, or Void Breach, or destroying a Strand Tangle has an escalating chance to give you Armor Charge.
  • Bomber – Reduces grenade cooldown when using your class ability.
  • Powerful Attraction – Automatically collects nearby Orbs of Power when you activate your class ability.
  • Distribution – Reduces all ability cooldowns when using your class ability near targets.

Gameplay loop

The gameplay loop is fairly straight forward for this build.

  • Throw you bleak watcher on nearby or at enemies
  • Shoot two or more stasis crystals to proc whisper of shards
  • Stand beside your turret to shoot additional slowing icicles
  • Collect all stasis shards for frost armor and ability energy
  • Use all of your abilities all the time because of how fast you get them

Let me know in the comments what you think.
