Red Death is back in Destiny 2, given we’re at the final hurdle of the story it’s a good time to come back. Crimson was version of Red Death brought forward from Destiny 1 into Destiny 2, however, now we can use the original Red Death once again. Today I’m going to go through the exotic traits plus how to get this Pulse Rifle in Desytiny 2.
How to get Red Death Reformed
To get Red Death Reformed you can pick this up from the season pass. It’s available for all players, but it’s on different tracks depending on whether you paid for Echoes or not. If you have paid, you’ll be able to pick it up immediately as the first item. If you are a free-to-play player, then you’ll be able to pick it up at rank 35 of the season pass. You’ll notice Red Death looks a little different, but at rank 100 you’ll be able to pick up an ornament called Old Blood to make it look like the D1 original Red Death.
Red Death Reformed
Red Death Reformed is a Solar Exotic Pulse Rifle. Looking at the stats we have Impact 33, Range 65, Stability 49, Handling 39, Reload Speed 46, Airborne Effectiveness 24, Rounds Per Minute 340 and Magazine 29.
Red Death Reformed has some improved exotic perks in Destiny 2:
- Redemption – Final blows with this weapon cure you and increase reload speed; reloading after final blows cures nearby allies.
- Inverse Relationship – When you deal damage with this weapon, it gains increased handling, takes reduced flinch, and movement speed is increased for a short time. When you are at reduced health, this weapon deals additional damage.
Red Death also grants Cure x2 on a final blow, this makes it a very strong weapon for both PVE and PVP content. Plus you get the increased handling, reload speed and improved damage when you are under fire. On paper this sounds very strong, and a welcome return for a classic exotic weapon.
Red Death Reformed Catalyst
To get the catalyst you’ll need to pick up a quest from Banshee-44 and then complete that quest. This includes getting weapon kills with Red Death Reformed. You can do that in activities of your choice or at the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid.
There are two parts to the quest. To get the catalyst you’ll need to complete the initial quest steps, this normally means getting weapon kills with either Red Death Reformed, or another Pulse Rifle, but it’s best to check the requirements on the quest you pick up from Banshee-44.
Once you have finished then quest, you’ll then get the catalyst from Banshee-44. Once you have slotted the catalyst onto the weapon then you’ll need to get more kills to level up the catalyst. Once you’ve completed this, then you’ll be able to slot the catalyst onto the weapon, which will give you more benefits. Red Death Reformed is already a great weapon, but adding the catalyst makes it even better.
Let me know in the comments what you think.
