The M-17 “Fast Talker” is a potential reward for completing Renegades campaign missions, as well as related activities like Bounty Hunts, Sabotage operations, and Smuggle Runs. Once you progress further into the Renegades DLC, the weapon also becomes available to focus.

M-17 Fast Talker is a Legendary Kinetic Submachine Gun which is a Balanced Heat Weapon meaning it
increases damage versus powerful combatants. Very low heat generated. Reload to vent heat from the weapon. Overheating forces a sustained vent. Manually venting at very high heat greatly increases venting speed. Looking at the stats we have Impact 15, Range 32, Stability 44, Handling 66, Reload Speed 42, Rounds Per Minute 900.

The Origin Trait is Aur Cooled Core. Sprinting increases vent or reload speed for a short time. While at low heat or full magazine, gain increased handling and movement speed when aiming down sights.

The M-17 “Fast Talker” is a standout new addition to the sandbox. Its Balanced Heat archetype makes it an appealing option, and it’s easily one of the strongest 900 RPM SMGs in Destiny 2 for both PvE and PvP.

In PvE, its perk combinations allow you to tap into its Stasis element for Crystal generation and synergy with Stasis builds, or to focus on Orb creation and consistent damage buffs. In PvP, the Fast Talker can contend with the top weapons in its class, giving it reliable performance across all modes. Whether you’re exploring the Lawless Frontier or pushing competitive content, it’s a versatile pick. Overall, the M-17 “Fast Talker” earns an A-Tier rating in both PvE and PvP.
