Heart of Thunder Titan Arc Build (Episode Heresy)

Heart of Inkost Light has always been a great Titan Exotic, but it’s stepped up a gear in Episode Heresy. When combined with the Arc subclass, Storms Keep and the right weapons, this one absolutely destroys everything that stands in your way. Today I’m going to check out this Arc Titan build, show you why it’s good, plus explain how to put it together in Destiny 2.

Why this build is good

This build has great damage thanks to our exotic armor Heart of Inmost Light plus our aspect super charging our grandes, plus we have access to Bolt Charge. We have great survivability thanks to the improved Rally barricade. This got a buff recently which improved the damage resistance, plus better protection against splash damage. Finally we have excellent ability regen – due to ionic traces being created, meaning we’re going to be using our abilities over and over. This is going to allow you to take on the hardest content including expert modes in episode activities, plus grandmasters, raids and dungeons.

The gameplay loop for this is simple, drop a barricade, then a grenade and then fire weapons, then repeat over and over for huge damage. When jumping into battle we want to place down a barricade, then throw a pulse grenade to increase the damage over time. Then start hitting enemies with your arc weapons, and you’re going to generate loads of ionic traces, almost instantly restoring your barricade. Heart of Inmost Light also buffs your barricade, as well as our fragments.

The newest aspect Storm’s keep comes into play in this build. When you cast your barricade we’re going to get multiple stacks of Bolt Charge, and your weapons can discharge Botl charge without having to use an ability. Paired with our aspects, we’re going to get even more stacks of Bolt Charge.

Let’s check out the build in more detail.

Exotic Armor

Heart of Inmost Light

This is an Exotic Chest armor for Titans with the perk

Overflowing Light – Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points.

Arc Subclass Setup

Super – Thundercrash, Hurtle through the air like a missile and crash into targets to inflict meteoric damage.
Class ability – Rally Barricade, Creates a small barrier that you can peek over while aiming down sights; increases weapon reload speed, stability, and range. Draws hostile fire when you stand behind it.
Melee – Thunderclap, Hold while grounded to plant your feet and begin charging your fist with Arc energy. Release to unleash a devastating blast in front of you, dealing damage that increases with longer charge time.
Grenade – Pulse Grenade, A grenade that periodically damages targets within its explosion radius.

Aspects

Touch of Thunder – Your Flashbang, Pulse, Lightning, and Storm Grenades have enhanced functionality. Pulse Grenade: Creates Ionic Traces periodically as it damages targets and increases in damage over time.

Storms Keep – Cast your class ability to grant a moderate amount of Bolt Charge stacks to you and nearby allies. While behind your Barricade, you and allies gain stacks of Bolt Charge over time and your weapons can discharge max stacks of Bolt Charge.

Fragments

Spark of Beacons – While you are amplified, your Arc Special or Heavy ammo weapon final blows create a blinding explosion.

Spark of Discharge – Collecting Ionic Traces grants a Stack of Bolt Charge. Scoring multiple Arc Weapon Kills spawns an Ionic Trace at the killed target’s location.

Spark of Frequency – Melee hits increase your equipped weapon’s reload speed and stability for a short duration. While amplified, the effects are increased and you gain increased stacks of Bolt Charge from all sources.

Spark of Resistance – Grants 25% Damage Resistance while within 15 meters of 3+ enemies.

Weapons

The Call

The Call is a Legendary Strand Sidearm with a Rocket-Assisted Frame meaning the sidearm fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage. You can get this one from The Pale Heart of the Traveler destination.

VS Pyroelectric Propellant

VS Pyroelectric Propellant is a Legendary Energy Arc Auto Rifle with an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. You can use any arc weapon here, and this one is from Vesper’s Host.

Thunderlord

Thunderlord is an Exotic Power Machine Gun, plus it fires arc damage. Here are the perks.
