Why this build is good
This Prismatic Warlock with Getaway Artist build is powerful because it creates a self-sustaining cycle of ability use, healing, and enemy control while maintaining strong damage output. At its core, Getaway Artist turns your Arc grenade into an autonomous Arc Soul turret while making you Amplified, which boosts your speed and handling. Combined with the Prismatic subclass and the Feed the Void aspect, you gain Devour on ability kills, letting you instantly heal and regenerate grenade energy. This means you can repeatedly generate Arc Souls or switch to Bleak Watcher Stasis turrets when you need crowd control, keeping you constantly offensive and defensive at the same time. Phoenix Dive adds another layer of survivability by letting you instantly Cure yourself and allies while triggering cooldown-reducing mods.
The build also excels in synergy across multiple elemental damage types. Storm Grenades with Getaway Artist apply Jolt to enemies, while Arcane Needle applies Unravel, and Bleak Watcher freezes targets. These status effects not only disrupt and damage enemies but also trigger Facet of Courage for increased ability damage to afflicted targets. With Facet of Purpose, every Orb of Power grants you a strong defensive buff like Restoration, Woven Mail, or Overshield, making you significantly harder to kill in difficult encounters. Facet of Command further rewards crowd control by reloading and buffing your weapons when you freeze or suppress enemies, ensuring you’re always ready to fire.
The weapon and mod choices reinforce this endless loop of abilities and buffs. Harmonic Siphon, Innervation, Absolution, and Grenade Kickstart ensure constant Orb generation and cooldown reduction, while Surge mods increase weapon damage during Armor Charge uptime. Gjallarhorn provides massive boss DPS and shares Wolfpack Rounds with your team, while a fast-handling energy weapon like Yeartide Apex keeps you mobile and aggressive. The result is a build that can handle ad-clear, control dangerous areas, survive heavy fire, and deliver serious damage to bosses—all without slowing down. It’s flexible, effective in solo or team play, and thrives in both casual and high-end PvE content because it layers offense, defense, and utility into one seamless loop.
Gameplay loop
Start the fight with your grenade – Use Storm Grenade with Getaway Artist to spawn an Arc Soul and become Amplified, or swap to Bleak Watcher to deploy a Stasis turret for freezing enemies.
Trigger Devour – Get an ability kill (grenade, melee, or turret) to activate Feed the Void, instantly healing and restoring grenade energy for the next Arc Soul or turret.
Maintain buffs through Orbs of Power – Use Phoenix Dive, Reaper, and Harmonic Siphon to generate Orbs, which feed Facet of Purpose for defensive buffs and fuel Grenade Kickstart/Innervation for faster cooldowns.
Control and debuff enemies – Apply Jolt (Arc), Unravel (Strand), and Freeze (Stasis) to stack damage bonuses from Facet of Courage and Facet of Command while keeping enemies locked down.
Unload heavy DPS when needed – Use Gjallarhorn during boss phases for burst damage while your Arc Soul/turrets continue dealing passive damage and refreshing ability cooldowns.
Prismatic Warlock with Getaway Artist Build
Lets put the build together.
Exotic Armor
Getaway Artist
This comes with ‘Dynamic Duo’. Convert your Arc grenade into a Arc Soul and become amplified. The Arc Soul functions as an autonomous turret. Get this from Master Rahool in the Tower.
Prismatic Subclass
Super – Nova Bomb, Hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at a target, disintegrating those caught within its blast. Nova Bomb travels slowly and seeks targets. Detonations shatter into smaller seeker projectiles.
Class Ability – Phoenix Dive, Dive to the ground and create a burst of Solar Light that cures nearby allies.
Melee – Arcane Needle, Sling a woven needle that will embed in your target, unraveling them. Activate your melee ability again to chain up to two additional attacks.
Grenade – Storm Grenade, A grenade that calls down a focused lightning storm. This is going to jolt targets.
Aspects
Feed the Void – Defeat a target with any ability to activate Devour. This gives us a good amount of health, plus an almost infinite stream of grenades.
Bleak Watcher – Hold to convert your grenade into a Stasis turret that fires slowing projectiles at nearby targets.
Fragments
Facet of Protection – While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage. While transcendent, the effect is increased. This is going to help us stay alive.
Facet of Purpose – Picking up an Orb of Power grants either Bolt Charge, Restoration, Frost Armor, Woven Mail, or Overshield based on the damage type of your equipped Super.
Facet of Courage – Your Arc, Solar, and Void abilities deal increased damage to targets afflicted with Darkness debuffs.
Facet of Command – Freezing or suppressing a target reloads your equipped weapons and increases weapon stability, aim assist, and airborne effectiveness.
Weapons
Primary – Mint Retrograde
Mint Retrograde is a Legendary Kinetic Pulse Rifle with a Rocket-Assisted Frame meaning the weapon fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage.
To get Mint Retrograde you’ll want to run Pinnacle Ops, and you can find Pinnacles Ops via The Portal. Mint Retrograde is part of the rewards pool for Pinnacle Ops, and it’s a random drop throughout the activity, plus once you defeat the final boss.
Energy – Yeartide Apex
Yeartide Apex is a Legendary Energy Submachine Gun with a Lightweight Frame meaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped. You can get this from the Solstice event. If you don’t have this, then a decent Solar Primary would be a good replacement.
Heavy – Gjallarhorn
Gjallarhorn is an Exotic Power Rocket Launcher that fires solar damage and it comes with some pretty special perks
Wolfpack Rounds – Rounds fired split into tracking cluster missiles upon detonation.
Pack Hunter – Gain increased handling and reload speed when standing near allies. Firing this weapon also grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies wielding non-Exotic Rocket Launchers.
You can get this one from the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon on the Cosmodrome.
