What if I told you there’s a Hunter build that turns you into an unkillable, invisible, lightning-fast brawler—punching through enemies, healing yourself, and vanishing before they even hit the ground? Welcome to the Liar’s Handshake Prismatic Hunter—a build that turns you into a one-person wrecking crew with infinite melee chains, constant buffs, and full-on style. Today I’m going to show you why this build is good, the gameplay loop, and put the build together so you can try it in Destiny 2.
Why this build is good
This Hunter Prismatic build in Destiny 2 stands out for its incredible synergy between melee combat, ability regeneration, healing, and crowd control. At the core of the build is the Liar’s Handshake Exotic gauntlets, which grant the Cross Counter perk. This allows you to unleash a powerful counterpunch that heals you whenever you use your Arc melee or get hit by one. Combined with the Combination Blow melee ability—which increases melee damage, restores health, and recharges your dodge on kill—you can continuously chain together powerful melee attacks and stay alive even in the middle of enemy groups.
The Grapple grenade furthers this aggressive playstyle by giving you high mobility and area-of-effect melee attacks. Grappling to a Tangle instantly refunds your grenade energy, allowing you to stay airborne and aggressive. After grappling, your melee deals AoE damage and applies Unravel, which disorients enemies and adds crowd control. This combo allows for rapid engagements, strong burst damage, and persistent control over groups of enemies.
The Stylish Executioner aspect adds another layer of lethality. It grants invisibility and Truesight (wallhacks) when you defeat a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target. While invisible, your next melee weakens enemies, starting the loop again. This invisibility and debuff cycle allows you to chain kills while remaining untouchable, constantly weakening targets to set up the next execution and invisibility trigger.
A powerful set of Prismatic fragments enhances this core loop. Facet of Dawn makes you Radiant with powered melee hits, boosting weapon damage. Facet of Courage increases ability damage against debuffed enemies—which you’re constantly creating through freeze, unravel, and weaken. Facet of Purpose turns Orb of Power pickups into random defensive buffs like Woven Mail, Overshield, and Frost Armor. Meanwhile, Facet of Protection increases damage resistance when surrounded, and Facet of Ruin boosts your AoE output by enhancing Stasis shatters and Solar ignitions. These fragments ensure you’re always empowered, tanky, and deadly.
The build’s mod setup creates an efficient ability regeneration loop. Heavy Handed and Reaper spawn Orbs of Power from melee and weapon kills. Mods like Innervation, Absolution, Bomber, and Dynamo reduce cooldowns for grenade, class ability, and super when you pick up Orbs or use your dodge near enemies. Recuperation provides healing from Orbs as well. Altogether, this setup guarantees that your abilities are always available, and you’re rarely, if ever, caught in a vulnerable state.
Your super ability, Silence and Squall, is great for freezing enemies and zoning the battlefield. Silence freezes and damages on impact, while Squall creates a damaging storm that slows enemies caught inside. This is excellent for crowd control, boss damage setups, or creating breathing room during chaotic encounters.
Finally, the weapon choices complement the build’s design. Tinasha’s Mastery is a powerful Stasis sidearm that synergizes well with Prismatic effects and benefits from Stasis fragments. Graviton Lance creates Void explosions and can help proc invisibility through Stylish Executioner. Qua Furor V, a Stasis machine gun, adds powerful AoE damage and plays into the Stasis side of your build with potential for shatter synergy.
In summary, this build turns your Hunter into a high-speed, self-sustaining melee brawler. You’re constantly healing, staying invisible, buffing your damage, controlling crowds with freezes and debuffs, and keeping your abilities cycling at near-permanent uptime. It’s fast, aggressive, and incredibly fun—ideal for dominating both PvE content and some PvP scenarios.
