Wicked Implement is an Exotic Stasis Scout Rifle which you can get through the Exotic Mission first made available in Season of the Deep. This has seen a buff since it’s initial release and now it’s great for stasis builds. Today I want to take a closer look at Wicked Implement, the exotic perks, how to get the weapon, plus also the catalyst too.
How to get Wicked Implement
Wikid Implement is available through the Whetstone mission, and part of the Deep Dive activity available through the H.E.L.M. One pre-requisite for access to the Exotic mission is to gather 3 different exotic fish from the fishing activity available on the EDZ, Nessus and Savathun’s Throne World. Everytime you get an exotic fish you’ll get a broken blade, which you’ll need to interact with 3 Thrall Statues in Deep Dive.
Statue 1: Broken Blade of Strife
When you first load in to the Deep Dive activity you’ll head down. When you land on the floor, instead of going down again, you’ll want to walk forward and to the right, then keep following the passage and jump down to find the Thrall Statue. The fireteam member who collected all the fish will need to interact with the statue and Xivu Arath will start speaking, plus the Thrall Statue will glow.
Statue 2: Broken Blade of Ambition
For this you want to complete the first encounter of the Deep Dive activity. Once you have cleared out all the enemies, a door will open up to the left of the main area, and you’ll wan to jump up there and activate the 2nd statue. Same as before, the person with the blades needs to interact with the statue.
Statue 3: Broken Blade of Cunning
After you have interacted with the 2nd statue, you’ll make your way down into an underwater area. You want to make your way down, but instead of jumping off the huge underwater cliff, you’ll want to go around to the left to find the 3rd statue.
Access the Whetstone exotic mission
Next you want to complete the 2nd encounter, and when you have killed all the enmies, you’ll want to head to the right and through the first door. Inside that door you have 3 statues, and you want to interact with them all to open a doorway into an underwater area.
Make your way through the underwater area and you’ll find a mini boss. You’ll need to destroy the crystals to damage the boss, and you’ll want to do this quickly because a timer starts to count down. You have to defeat this boss, plus a huge tormentor in the next phase before the timer ends. Burn down the boss here as quickly as possible, then you’ll get a refresh point for your super before going into final boss fight. This first encounter is all about teaching you the mechanic for the exotic mission; Deathly Sharp. The boss is immune without a buff and to get the buff you need to kill Minotaurs. Each kill gives you a stack of Deathly Sharp and you want to get to x3 buff.
The final boss is a large Tormentor, who will chase you around a maze. Precision damage weapons are key here, plus big impact supers (thundercrash, gathering storm, golden gun etc). Many teams will get blocked by a DPS check here. Divinity is also very useful for teams to help burn the boss down as fast as possible. The tormentor is called Omen, Blade of the Black Terrace, and you’ll want to run, because this big guy will kill you very quickly. Once again, run around the maze and kill the Minotaurs to get Deathly Sharp x3. Once you have the buff find Omen the Tormentor and start unloading your weapons into him. Precision weapons and burst damage supers are best here; Linear Fusion Rifles are especially good. Once you kill the boss, Wikid Implement will drop for you.
In the future it’s likely Deep Deives will go away, so I imagine the Wikid Implement will move to the Monuments to Lost Lights Exotic Kiosk in the Tower.

- Creeping Attrition – Rapidly landing precision hits causes targets to become slowed.
- Tithing Harvest – Destroyed Stasis crystals or precision final blows while Creeping Attrition is active create a Stasis shard that returns to you. Collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine.
Looking at the stats Impact 62, Range 47, Stability 48, Handling 44, Reload Speed 41, Airborne Effectiveness 18, Rounds Per Minute 180, and Magazine 16.
Wicked Implement Catalyst
To get the catalyst you have to upgrade Deep Dives to Tier 7, by finding Toland (looks like an glowing orb) in each of the combat arenas, plus the optional objective to start the Pressure Trial. It’s worth noting all players need to interact with Toland to start the Pressure Trial. Continue through, kill the boss and the catalyst will drop for you.
Wicked Implement Improvements
- Timing window for Creeping Attrition has been increased from 3.5 seconds to 4.5 seconds.
- Tithing Harvest can now also be activated by destroying Stasis crystals.
- Wicked Implement Exotic catalyst now also includes the Headstone perk.
Let me know in the comments what you think.
