Phoneutria Fera is a new type of hand cannon added in Destiny 2 with the Edge of Fate, and specifically Arms Week. This is a spread shot hand cannon, inspired by a bug in Destiny 2, it’s a kind of hybrid hand cannon that shoots like a shotgun. It packs a serious punch, and is going to be a must-have weapon in the Edge of Fate. Today I’m going to go through the stats, perks, god rolls, plus how to get it in Destiny 2.

How to get Phoneutria Fera

To get this one you need to visit Ada-1 in the Shooting Range during Arms Week. At the time of publishing this guide, Arms week is on, it’s a week long event with a particular focus on certain weapons, and this week it’s hand cannons, so Ada-1 is just handing them out. No quest steps, nothing, just speak to Ada-1 in the Shooting Range in the Tower and she’ll give it to you. Easy.

You can get additional versions of the weapon with random perks and also there is a Hollow Foil version of the weapon, you can inspect Ada-1’s inventory and see the different options.

Phoneutria Fera

Phoneutria Fera is a Legendary Energy Hand Cannon with a Spread Shot Frame meaning it fires a short range spread of pellets. Looking at the stats we have Impact 96, Range 35, Stability 40, Handling 35, Reload Speed 25, Rounds Per Minute 100, Magazine 8.

This one comes with the Origin Trait Tenacity and Hakke Breach Armaments. First, Tenacity. When targets are nearby, final blows grant weapon damage, reload speed, and handling until the wielder’s death. We also have Hakke Breach Armaments. This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles and constructs. Constructs include barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field.

The very interesting thing about this weapon is you can fit it, and all other Arms Week weapons with Volatile or Exotic Mods. These only apply during Arms Week, but can add some interesting effects. For example, Fragmentation Rounds is one that adds explosive submunitions to precision final blows, which can be powerful, powerful enough to kill enemies and Guardians, and that includes you. Other mods have random effects, plus vastly improved hip-fire. These look like very powerful mods, so it’s worth speaking to Ada-1, picking up the quests and getting them for Arms Week.
