Agape is the latest Heavy Burst Hand Cannon introduced with the Edge of Fate DLC. In this guide, I’m going to break down how good Agape really is, the god rolls for PvE and PvP, and how you can get Agape in Destiny 2.

How to get Agape

Agape is tied to Kepler activities in the Edge of Fate expansion. You can earn it by:

Completing Kepler campaign missions
Opening random chests in Kepler zones
Finishing Sieve activities
Attuning to Agape at the Altar of Reflection for targeted farming

Agape

Agape is a Legendary Energy Hand Cannon with a Heavy Burst frame meaning it fires a hard-hitting, two-round burst. Slightly reduces flinching from incoming fire while aiming. Looking at the stats we have Impact 92, Range 64, Stability 28, Handling 29, Reload Speed 21, Rounds Per Minute 257, and Magazine 14. The Origin Trait is Exhaustive Research. Aiming down sights at a target for a short time loads a homing micro-rocket.

Agape brings a powerful toolkit to the table—solid base damage, great perk synergy, and AoE potential. However, it’s not without flaws. The Double Fire (Heavy Burst) archetype gives it a clunky feel, made worse by a cumbersome scope that can hinder visibility and flow in combat. But if you can adapt to its quirks, Agape is undeniably effective.

For PVE

Barrel: Fluted Barrel

Perk 1: Heal Clip

Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell enhance Handling, Stability, and Reload Speed—key QoL stats in PvE. Heal Clip offers team-focused healing after reloads, while Incandescent reliably spreads Solar scorch. Firefly is flashier, but less consistent.

In PvE content, Agape is an equally viable option. It offers utility, crowd control, and decent synergy with Solar-based builds. It’s A-Tier here as well—not the absolute best, but certainly worth your time.

For PVP

Perk 2: Precision Instrument

Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds boost both Range and Stability—crucial for dueling. Encore offers bigger rewards post-kill, while Moving Target is always active. Precision Instrument stands out by allowing two-bursts with the right setup, turning Agape into a deadly tool for skilled players.

In Crucible, Agape can be a powerhouse. While the awkward cadence and scope remain an issue, the damage output is impressive. With the Precision Instrument perk (especially enhanced), it’s capable of two-bursting Guardians at high Weapon stat values (around 130), offering a blistering 0.57-second time-to-kill—unless your opponent heavily invests in Resilience. That said, there are easier alternatives that provide similar results with less clunkiness—like a 180 RPM Hand Cannon with Precision Instrument. Agape is A-Tier for PvP: deadly, but not effortless.

Agape might not be for everyone, but in the right hands, it’s a top-tier contender in both PvE and PvP. Just be ready to work with its quirks—or overcome them entirely.
