Helldivers 2 – The Helldiver Manifesto

Helldivers 2 can be chaotic, but the community has developed some ‘unwritten rules of combat’ to help guide new players in our fight to spread democracy across the solar system. Today I’m going to run through the unwritten rules of Helldivers 2.

Without further delay, here are the unwritten rules of Helldivers 2.

  1. Communicate with your team, even if you don’t want to speak or don’t have a mic. You can use the Radial Wheel in game to communicate with your team. Interacting with your team helps make the game more fun, plus it can get you out of tight situations.
  2. Loot every sample you see. Pick up samples from your fallen teammates, this is because all samples are shared with your team so if you see someone die and they drop samples, pick them up. You can also use your map to find dropped samples, and then ping them.
  3. Don’t pick up the support weapons of your dead teammates, let them come back and pick it up themselves. Normal weapons are OK, avoid the support weapons.
  4. Let the whole team resupply, only pick up one supply cache at a time. One resupply cache is enough, and you want to make sure the whole team can get more ammo.
  5. When reviving a teammates, don’t throw their revive pod into the action, otherwise they will die again quickly. Find a quiet spot to throw the resupply, so they can land safely.
  6. Be careful of where your teammates are shooting, don’t walk through their line of bullets. Use crouch to get out of the way.
  7. Be mindful when you place down stratagems, especially Eagle Airstrikes or something similar, as you can take out your entire team. Avoid teammates with your Stratagems and focus on your enemies.
  8. Think about where to position turrets, this can be the difference in good defense or wasting the damage potential of these machine guns.
  9. There’s no need to shoot every unalerted enemy on the battlefield, especially in harder content. If you do shoot them, make sure your team is ready. Plus try to take them out before they call in backup.
  10. Stick with your team, try not to wander off ony your own and be a lone wolf. This is a team game after all.
  11. Never leave a fellow Helldiver behind.

Let me know what you think of the unwritten rules, and post your own unwritten rules in the comments below.
