Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Void Hunter Build in Destiny 2

This Void Hunter build is one of the best I’ve used in Destiny 2, and today I’m going to share it with you. This Void Hunter build is powerful because it creates a seamless loop of invisibility, healing, and debuffs that keeps you alive, empowers your weapons, and supports your team with constant ability uptime and explosive Void damage. Today I’m going to share why this build is good, discuss the gameplay loop, and we’re going to put this together in Destiny 2.

Why this build is good

This Void Hunter build in Destiny 2 excels because it seamlessly combines survivability, team utility, and powerful debuff synergy through the exotic chest piece Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. At its core, the build revolves around entering and exiting invisibility to trigger potent effects. Gyrfalcon’s perk grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons after becoming visible, which causes enemies to explode on death—perfect for add-clear and crowd control. Additionally, finishing enemies while invisible provides bonus weapon damage, reserve overshields, and faster class ability regeneration, all of which can be activated for yourself and allies using your dodge. This means every invisibility loop is not just a defensive tool but also a damage and support engine.

The subclass setup further enhances this loop. Abilities like Snare Bomb and Scatter Grenade apply weakening effects, which pair with the Stylish Executioner aspect to trigger invisibility after every kill on a debuffed target. This, in turn, makes your next melee weaken enemies again—creating a loop of weakening, invisibility, and empowered attacks. The On the Prowl aspect identifies priority targets, and defeating them creates a weakening smoke cloud that also grants invisibility and boosts ability and reload speeds for you and your team. The combination of these aspects allows you to move between combat encounters without breaking the chain of invisibility and debuffs, making you incredibly hard to pin down.

The choice of fragments reinforces this engine by amplifying the effects of each interaction. Echo of Starvation grants Devour when picking up Orbs of Power or Void Breaches, ensuring you’re constantly healing on kills. Echo of Persistence extends the duration of your buffs, while Echo of Obscurity turns finishers into invisibility triggers, synergizing directly with Gyrfalcon’s overshield benefits. Echo of Undermining ensures your grenades weaken enemies, and Echo of Harvest makes it easy to generate Void Breaches and Orbs, which then fuel Devour and ability energy. Altogether, these fragments create a powerful feedback loop of debuffing, killing, healing, and recharging.

The weapons chosen for the build support its core strengths. Collective Obligation is especially powerful, as it can leech Void debuffs (weaken, suppress, volatile) and reapply them, spreading your effects across entire waves of enemies. It also auto-reloads when you’re invisible, have Devour, or an overshield—all of which are nearly always active with this build. This enables you to maintain high uptime and pressure without interruption. Meanwhile, Hammerhead offers sustained damage in the heavy slot and benefits from Void weapon surge and scavenger mods, while Tinasha’s Mastery provides flexible close-range burst damage, especially in Prismatic or Stasis setups.

Finally, the armor mods enhance energy generation and survivability. Mods like Reaper, Harmonic Siphon, and Powerful Attraction make Orb generation and collection seamless, feeding both your ability loop and Devour. Bomber ensures quick grenade cooldowns via dodge use, and melee/grenade mod synergy keeps your ability rotation tight. Void Weapon Surge ensures your Void weapons remain a consistent source of high damage throughout. Combined, these mods and mechanics make the build not only self-sustaining and durable, but also a huge asset in endgame content thanks to its utility, healing, and debuffing potential.

In short, this Void Hunter build transforms you into a mobile, nearly-unkillable debuff machine that keeps your weapons empowered, your health full, your enemies weakened, and your allies safer—all while dishing out some serious Void-flavored destruction.

Gameplay loop

Start invisible (via Stylish Executioner, On the Prowl, or Echo of Obscurity from a finisher).
Emerge from invisibility to activate Volatile Rounds (from Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk).
Use Void weapons (e.g., Collective Obligation, Hammerhead) to:
Kill enemies with Volatile Rounds
Cause explosive chain reactions
Apply and spread Void debuffs (weaken, volatile, suppress)
Defeat debuffed enemies to:
Trigger Stylish Executioner (gain Invisibility again)
Spawn Orbs of Power and Void Breaches (via Echo of Harvest)
Pick up Orbs/Void Breaches to:
Activate Devour (via Echo of Starvation) → heal on kill
Recharge grenade, melee, and class abilities (On the Prowl + armor mods)
Throw Snare Bomb or Scatter Grenade to weaken enemies (Echo of Undermining)
Kill weakened enemies → continue Stylish Executioner chain
Repeat the loop: stay invisible, debuff enemies, heal on kill, and maintain nonstop ability uptime.

This loop allows you to be constantly invisible, empowered, and healing, while debuffing enemies and supporting teammates—a highly effective playstyle for all levels of PvE content.

Exotic armor

Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk

Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is an Exotic Hunter Chest Armor with the exotic perk See Me, Feel Me.

See Me, Feel Me – Your Void weapons gain Volatile Rounds after you emerge from being invisible. When you are invisible and defeat a combatant while using a finisher, all of your weapons gain bonus damage; you and your nearby allies gain a reserve overshield and improved class ability regeneration. These reserve overshields can be deployed by using a class ability.

You can get this from Master Rahool in the Tower.

Void subclass setup

Super – Shadowshot Deadfall, Tether foes to a Void Anchor, weakening and suppressing them for you and your allies. The Void Anchors fired from Shadowshot pull targets toward the impact point, which then become traps and wait for prey. Void Anchors have increased range and last longer.

Class ability – Gambler’s Dodge, Dodge to perform a deft tumble, avoiding enemy attacks. Dodging near enemies fully recharges your Melee Ability.

Melee – Snare Bomb, Throw a Smoke Bomb that attaches to surfaces and pings target radar, then detonates into a disorienting smoke cloud, weakening nearby targets. Targets within the smoke cloud take damage over time.

Grenade – Scatter Grenade, A grenade that splits into many submunitions and covers a large area with multiple explosions.

Aspects

Stylish Executioner – Defeating a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target grants Invisibility and Truesight. After performing a Stylish Execution, your next melee attack while invisible weakens targets.

On the Prowl – Entering invisibility marks a nearby combatant as a priority target for you and your team. Defeating priority targets creates a weakening cloud of smoke that makes you and allies invisible when passing through it. When priority targets are defeated, you and nearby allies gain increased weapon reload speed and stability for a short duration and are granted grenade, melee, and class ability energy.

Fragments

Echo of Harvest – Defeating weakened targets creates an Orb of Power and a Void Breach.
Echo of Obscurity – Finisher final blows grant Invisibility.
Echo of Persistence – Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration.
Echo of Starvation – Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour.
Echo of Undermining – Your Void grenades weaken targets.

Weapons

Tinasha’s Mastery (Rocket Sidearm)

Tinasha’s Mastery is a Legendary Stasis Sidearm with a Rocket-Assisted Frame meaning sidearm fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage. You can get it from Iron Banner and it’s perfect for Stasis and Prismatic builds.

Collective Obligation (Exotic Pulse Rifle)

Collective Obligation is an Exotic Energy Pulse Rifle.

Void Leech – This weapon leeches Void debuffs when damaging targets that are suppressed, weakened, or volatile. Once charged, swap firing modes. In this mode, damage from this weapon applies the same Void debuffs that were leeched.

Umbral Sustenance – This weapon’s magazine is automatically reloaded when you gain Devour, a Void over shield, or become invisible.

You can get this one from the Vow of the Disciple Raid as a random drop from the final boss.

Hammerhead (Machine Gun)

Hammerhead is a Legendary Power Machine Gun which is an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. To get this one you’ll want to play Onslaught and it’s a random drop from that activity. To focus farm it, speak to Zavala and focus in his menus before jumping into Onslaught.

Mods

Head
Harmonic Siphon – Rapid Void weapon final blows create an Orb of Power.
Heavy Ammo Finder – Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo upon defeat of an opponent.
Heavy Ammo Scout – When one of your ammo finder perks creates a brick of Heavy ammo for you, it also creates bricks of Heavy ammo for your allies.

Arms
Harmonic Loader – Increases reload speed of Void weapons.
Impact Induction – Causing damage with a powered melee attack reduces your grenade cooldown.
Momentum Transfer – Causing damage with a grenade reduces your melee cooldown.

Chest
Concussive Dampener – Reduces incoming area-of-effect damage from combatants.

Legs
Void weapon surge – Your Void weapons gain a small bonus to damage while you have any Armor Charge. Your Armor Charge now decays over time.
Harmonic Scavenger – Void weapons get bonus reserves when picking up ammo used by that weapon.

Class item
Reaper – Shortly after using your class ability, your next weapon final blow spawns an Orb of Power.
Bomber – Reduces grenade cooldown when using your class ability.
