This Prismatic Warlock build turns you into a debuffing engine, using Felwinter’s Helm to spread weaken across the battlefield and Outbreak Perfected to melt anything caught in it with swarms of nanites. Every melee, grenade, and ability feeds into the next, giving you constant healing through Devour, endless crowd control, and nonstop damage. It’s a self-sustaining loop that makes you nearly unkillable while your enemies crumble under stacking debuffs and relentless nanite swarms.
Why this build is good
The core of this build’s strength comes from Felwinter’s Helm. Its unique perk, Warlord’s End, turns your powered melee hits and finishers into battlefield-wide weakening effects. Every time you secure a melee final blow, you don’t just eliminate a target — you create a burst of energy that weakens everything nearby. Against tougher enemies, this burst becomes larger and lasts longer, turning Felwinter’s into a consistent debuff engine. Since weakened targets take increased damage, this helmet ensures that your entire arsenal — abilities and weapons alike — always hit harder. It’s not just about your melee ability; it’s about reshaping the battlefield so that every follow-up action is more deadly.
This is where Outbreak Perfected slides in perfectly. Outbreak thrives on weakened enemies thanks to its SIVA nanites. Each precision hit or kill spawns swarms of nanites that attach to nearby enemies, exponentially ramping up your damage output. When Felwinter’s weakens a group, Outbreak’s nanites spread faster and deal even more damage, making major enemies and bosses melt under sustained fire. The synergy is brutal: Felwinter’s ensures everything is primed for maximum damage, while Outbreak takes full advantage of the weakened state to shred through health bars with compounding nanite swarms.
The Prismatic subclass ties the exotic pairing together with layered utility. Arcane Needle and Lightning Surge both count as powered melees, meaning every strike can proc Felwinter’s weakening burst. Add Feed the Void, and every ability kill refreshes Devour, giving you survivability and endless grenade uptime. Pair that with Coldsnap Grenades, and you’re freezing entire groups of enemies while keeping your health topped up. Phoenix Dive adds a Solar cure and pairs neatly with Facet of Hope, speeding up your ability regeneration. The result is a rotation where melees and abilities continuously fuel each other, and Felwinter’s guarantees that each cycle leaves enemies weakened for your weapons to clean up.
The fragments multiply this synergy further. Facet of Courage directly boosts your Arc, Solar, and Void ability damage against weakened enemies, which is almost always active thanks to Felwinter’s Helm. Facet of Defiance turns finishers into elemental detonations, layering explosions on top of Felwinter’s weakening burst for massive crowd control. Facet of Protection and Facet of Purpose add durability and randomness to your buffs, keeping you alive and empowered in chaotic fights. These fragments don’t just add flavor — they directly enhance the weakening and debuff loops set up by your exotic armor.
Finally, the mods ensure the whole engine never stalls. Hands-On and Heavy Handed feed you Super energy and Orbs of Power on melee kills, while Melee Font and Invigoration shorten your melee cooldown every time you pick up an Orb. With Time Dilation, those Armor Charge buffs last longer, and Kinetic Weapon Surge turns Outbreak Perfected into an even more reliable damage source. It’s a tightly wound feedback loop: melees create Orbs, Orbs fuel Armor Charges, Armor Charges strengthen your weapons and abilities, and Felwinter’s Helm ensures everything you do weakens enemies for maximum payoff.
Gameplay loop
Open with melee or Lightning Surge – land a powered melee hit or finisher to trigger Felwinter’s Helm, weakening enemies in an area.
Follow up with abilities – toss a Coldsnap Grenade or chain Arcane Needles into the weakened group for freezes, unravels, and ability kills that feed Devour.
Lay down weapon damage – swap to Outbreak Perfected and melt weakened enemies as nanites spread, multiplying damage across the group.
Collect Orbs of Power – from Heavy Handed and melee kills, fueling Armor Charges that boost damage and reduce cooldowns.
Repeat the cycle – with abilities refreshed by Feed the Void, Invigoration, and mods, dive back in with another melee to reapply weaken and keep the loop going.
Exotic Armor
Felwinter’s Helm
This is an Exotic Warlock Helmet with the perk Warlord’s End.
Warlord’s End – Powered melee hits weaken targets. Powered melee final blows create a burst of energy that weakens nearby targets. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the radius of the burst and the length of the weakening effect.
You can get this from Master Rahool in the Tower, or keep an eye on Xur for when he sells it (he’s around from Friday until reset on Tuesday).
Prismatic Subclass Setup
Super – Nova Bomb, Hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at a target, disintegrating those caught within its blast. Nova Bomb travels slowly and seeks targets. Detonations shatter into smaller seeker projectiles.
Class Ability – Phoenix Dive, Dive to the ground and create a burst of Solar Light that cures nearby allies.
Melee – Arcane Needle, Sling a woven needle that will embed in your target, unraveling them. Activate your melee ability again to chain up to two additional attacks.
Grenade – Coldsnap Grenade, A grenade that freezes on impact and sends another seeker to find and freeze targets.
Aspects
Feed the Void – Defeat a target with any ability to activate Devour. This gives us a good amount of health, plus an almost infinite stream of grenades.
Lightning Surge – While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to blink forward, calling down lightning strikes that jolt targets as you rematerialize. Targets that are hit by your lightning strikes grant you stacks of Bolt Charge.
Fragments
Facet of Courage – Your Arc, Solar, and Void abilities deal increased damage to targets afflicted with Darkness debuffs.
Facet of Defiance – Finishers create a detonation that either jolts, scorches, slows, severs, or makes targets volatile based on the damage type of your equipped Super.
Facet of Hope – While you have an elemental buff, your class ability regenerates more quickly.
Facet of Protection – While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage. While transcendent, the effect is increased. This is going to help us stay alive.
Facet of Purpose – Picking up an Orb of Power grants either Bolt Charge, Restoration, Frost Armor, Woven Mail, or Overshield based on the damage type of your equipped Super.
Weapons
Primary – Outbreak Perfected (Exotic Pulse Rifle)
Outbreak Perfected is a fantastic Kinetic Pulse Rifle, mainly down to its perks. Let’s check them out in a little more detail.
The Corruption Spreads – This weapon creates SIVA nanite swarms on rapid hits and precision kills.
Parasitism – This weapon does more damage to enemies based on the number of SIVA nanites that attach to them.
You can get this from the Zero Hour Exotic Mission in the Legends menu via the Director.
Energy – Lotus Eater
Lotus-Eater is a Rocket-Assisted Frame which means the sidearm fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage.
To get this one you’ll want to complete Nightfalls when Lotus-Eater is the featured weapon for the week. When you defeat the final boss, you’ll have a chance at Lotus-Eater dropping for you. The higher the difficulty Nightfall, the more likely the weapon will drop. You’ll have the chance to get an Adept version from a Grandmaster Nightfall.
Power – Hammerhead
Hammerhead is a Legendary Power Machine Gun which is an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. You can get this weapon from Xur.
