This Void Warlock build isn’t just strong — it’s a walking singularity. After Bungie’s latest buffs, grenades have become the centerpiece of pure destruction, and this setup turns them into an endless cascade of explosions, healing, and energy regeneration. With double grenade charges, boosted damage, and near-infinite energy thanks to Contraverse Hold and Devour, you’ll tear through enemies in a constant loop of Void-powered chaos. Every throw heals you, every kill fuels your next attack, and every explosion triggers another — it’s the perfect storm of survivability and power.
Why this build is good
This Void Warlock build was already strong, but after Bungie’s recent changes, it’s gone from powerful to borderline absurd in terms of grenade uptime, damage potential, and overall utility. The latest balance adjustments have turned every part of this setup—abilities, aspects, and exotics—into a perfectly tuned engine of Void destruction.
The biggest game-changer is that Chaos Accelerant now grants two grenade charges. This single tweak completely redefines how the build functions. Before, the Contraverse Hold loop depended on hitting your grenades consistently to refund energy fast enough for near-permanent uptime. Now, with double charges, you can chain grenades back-to-back—throw one to trigger Devour and Volatile Rounds, then throw another immediately to finish off or control a crowd. It means you’re never stuck waiting for energy, and since Contraverse Hold refunds energy on grenade hits, you’ll constantly be bouncing between one full charge and another. Combined with the innate 10% bonus to passive grenade regeneration that Warlocks now have, you’re swimming in grenade energy at all times.
Bungie’s buff to Axion Bolt also directly amplifies this build’s core loop. With charged Axion Bolts now detonating twice and dealing 25% more damage against combatants, they’ve gone from decent add-clear options to devastating room-clearing weapons. When you charge them with Chaos Accelerant, they track more aggressively, split into multiple seekers, and each detonation has the potential to trigger Echo of Expulsion’s Void explosions. The result is a cascade effect—one grenade creates multiple detonations, which then cause additional chain explosions, all while refunding energy and healing you through Feed the Void’s Devour.
It doesn’t stop there. Bungie has also given Warlocks a 5% flat increase to grenade damage, stacking with the benefits from Chaos Accelerant and Contraverse Hold’s natural resilience and energy refund. This seemingly small damage buff makes a huge difference when applied to AoE-heavy Void grenades like Vortex or Axion Bolt, especially since each grenade can now reliably one-shot red-bar enemies and heavily wound elites. Add in Child of the Old Gods now counting as a grenade construct for stat interactions, and suddenly your Rift ability starts feeding into the same grenade-focused energy cycle—helping you maintain ability uptime even more efficiently.
What makes these buffs especially potent is how perfectly they align with this build’s existing synergies. Contraverse Hold thrives on grenade hits and overcharging through Chaos Accelerant; Chaos Accelerant now doubles your grenades. Feed the Void relies on ability kills to activate Devour; your grenades now hit harder, more often, and over a wider area. Echo of Instability gives Volatile Rounds on grenade kills; you now have twice as many chances to trigger it. The build’s strengths—sustain, regeneration, and Void weapon synergy—are all magnified by Bungie’s reworks.
In practice, this means you’re now throwing out two charged Axion Bolts that detonate multiple times, applying Volatile and Devour while generating Orbs for Armor Charge. Your Graviton Lance and Folded Root weapons take advantage of these buffs, shredding through volatile enemies and triggering even more Void explosions. Between the new innate regeneration bonus, double grenade charges, and improved Axion Bolt damage, you can handle entire waves of enemies without ever touching your weapons if you choose—and when you do, your Void weapons hit even harder thanks to Volatile Rounds and Surge mods.
Ultimately, these Bungie changes have made this Warlock Void build one of the most consistent and self-sustaining setups in the game. You now regenerate grenade energy faster, throw more grenades more often, and deal more damage with each one. It’s smoother, stronger, and more explosive than ever—an endless loop of Void energy where every throw fuels the next, every kill restores your health, and every explosion spawns two more. This isn’t just a grenade build anymore—it’s a fully realized Void war machine.
Gameplay loop
Charge and throw your grenades with Chaos Accelerant — now with two charges and higher damage, each Axion Bolt detonates twice for massive AoE.
Get a kill to trigger Devour via Feed the Void, instantly healing you and restoring grenade energy.
Contraverse Hold refunds energy on grenade hits, keeping your two-charge cycle going almost endlessly.
Grenade kills grant Volatile Rounds through Echo of Instability, letting Graviton Lance and other Void weapons trigger chain explosions.
Collect Orbs of Power to boost Void weapon damage with Void Weapon Surge, then repeat — endless grenades, healing, and detonations.
Exotic Armor
Contraverse Hold
Contraverse Hold are Exotic Warlock Gauntlets with the perk Chaotic Exchanger.
