Psi Aeterna IV is a Portal weapon, so it can drop from any Portal activity. However, keep an eye out for weeks when it’s the featured weapon for a specific activity — its drop rate is significantly higher during those periods.

Psi Aeterna IV is a Legendary Energy Pulse Rifle with a Micro-Missile Frame meaning it fires self-propelled micro-missiles that explode on impact for high damage. Looking at the stats we have Blast Radius 68, Velocity 63, Stability 45, Handling 26, Reload Speed 30, Rounds Per Minute 200, Magazine 5.

We have the choice of 3 origin traits on this.

• Accelerated Assualt – Dealing sustained damage with this weapon loads a small amount of ammo from reserves, or removes heat, and slightly increases damage.
• Vanguard Determination – After using your class ability, final blows with this weapon grant you bonus damage resistance.
• Wild Card – Final blows with this weapon have a chance to create experimental submunitions at the target’s location.

Psi Aeterna IV is a Rocket Pulse Rifle, instantly putting it among the stronger choices for your energy slot. Even with the slight ammo nerf introduced in Renegades, Rocket Pulse Rifles remain incredibly powerful — and Psi Aeterna IV is no exception.

With its Arc-focused perk pool, Psi Aeterna IV shines in Arc builds, especially those that reliably generate Bolt Charge. Perks like Trickle Charge make it even more versatile; even if you’re not running Arc, a well-timed Storm’s Keep barricade can let you take full advantage of it. For solo players or those avoiding Arc entirely, Blast Disruptor is a great alternative, boosting your Grenade stat for builds that rely on high, well-rounded attributes. The addition of Elemental Honing further elevates the weapon’s DPS potential.

For PVE Quick Launch, Appended Mag, Trickle Charge, Elemental Honing, Masterwork Handling

• Quick Launch – Greatly increases handling speed, Increases projectile speed
• Appended Mag – Increases magazine size
• Trickle Charge – Receiving or discharging Bolt Charge partially loads the magazine from reserves.
• Elemental Honing – Dealing unique elemental damage grants this weapon a stacking damage bonus. This bonus is increased for kinetic weapons.
• Masterwork Handling

For PVP, I wouldn’t use a rocket pulse, there are better options out for PVP.
