Eunoia Solar Warlock Build in Destiny 2

This Solar Warlock build focuses on constant ability spam, scorch and ignition chains, and high survivability. Centered around Eunoia and the Hellion Aspect, it turns your class ability into a damaging tool while generating Orbs of Power to fuel nonstop grenades, melee, and class ability use. It’s perfect for clearing waves and staying in control during tough PvE encounters. Today I’m going to explain why this is good, the gameplay loop, and how to put the build together in Destiny 2.

Why this build is good

This Solar Warlock build is powerful because it creates a self-sustaining cycle of scorch, ignition, and ability regeneration, enabling you to constantly apply pressure in PvE activities. What makes it truly effective is the way each component—from subclass abilities to weapons and armor mods—works together to keep you in control of the battlefield without relying on ammo or teammates. You’re always scorching enemies, igniting them for AoE damage, and then instantly regaining energy to repeat the process.

At the heart of the build is the exotic gauntlet Eunoia, which empowers your class ability with Hellion projectiles that grow stronger over distance and fracture into scorching shrapnel. This turns your class ability from a support tool into a high-damage, long-range ignition trigger, especially when combined with the Hellion Aspect. When you dive with Phoenix Dive, you not only heal but also trigger Hellion, apply scorch, and generate Orbs of Power thanks to mods like Reaper. This means you’re constantly gaining energy and buffing your damage while dealing AoE burns.

What makes the build so good is how often and easily you can trigger scorch and ignition. With Fusion Grenades enhanced by Touch of Flame, your grenades explode twice, dealing major damage and applying a ton of scorch stacks. Incinerator Snap gives you fast melee scorch application, and the Song of Flame Super enhances both your weapon and ability output, making it easier to maintain pressure. Fragments like Ember of Ashes, Char, Singeing, and Eruption multiply the effectiveness of every scorch or ignition, widening the damage radius and feeding energy back into your loop.

The build also shines because of its insane cooldown reduction and Orb of Power economy. You’re constantly generating orbs through Solar weapon kills (Harmonic Siphon), class ability use (Reaper), and defeating enemies after ability use. Mods like Absolution, Insulation, and Bomber ensure that every orb you collect brings your cooldowns closer to zero. This means you almost always have your grenade, melee, and class ability ready, which is rare in most builds without specific exotic crutches.

On top of that, your Solar weapons get a passive damage buff through Solar Weapon Surge, which is sustained by the orbs you’re already generating. Pair this with Polaris Lance, which not only deals reliable Solar precision damage but also triggers Solar explosions through its exotic perk. In content with Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle mods, it becomes a top-tier pick for endgame content. Your heavy weapon, Fixed Odds, rounds out the setup with strong Solar AoE and boss DPS, also benefiting from Solar Surge and your orb generation.

In short, this build is good because it’s aggressive, regenerative, and self-fulfilling. You don’t need to rely on teammates or heavy ammo to deal high damage. Every ability feeds another, every orb brings you closer to your next cooldown, and every enemy scorched contributes to massive area damage through ignitions. It’s a perfect blend of offense, sustain, and synergy, making it one of the most reliable Solar Warlock builds for PvE content right now.

Gameplay loop

Use Phoenix Dive to trigger the Hellion mortar, apply scorch to enemies, generate Orbs of Power (Reaper), and heal yourself or allies.

Collect Orbs of Power to instantly reduce all ability cooldowns (Absolution, Insulation) and activate Solar Weapon Surge for bonus weapon damage.

Throw Fusion Grenades (enhanced by Touch of Flame) to apply massive scorch and cause double explosions, leading to fast ignitions.

Follow up with Incinerator Snap to apply scorch to clustered enemies, further fueling ignition chains and triggering cooldown-refunding mods (Impact Induction, Focusing Strike).

Repeat the cycle by diving again, collecting more orbs, spamming abilities, and igniting everything—keeping your uptime high and damage output constant.

Eunoia Solar Warlock Build

Let’s put the build together.

Exotic Armor

Eunoia

Eunoia are Exotic Warlock Gauntlets that come with the perk Consul’s Pitch.

Consul’s Pitch – Hellion projectiles deal increased damage the further they travel eventually fracturing into scorching shrapnel.

To get this one finish the Edge of Fate Campaign on Legendary difficulty.

Solar Subclass Setup

Super – Song of Flame, Unleash your inner fire, making your equipped weapons radiant and enhancing your abilities. Melee, Release a supercharged melee attack that launches additional projectiles. Grenade, Create a sentient flame wisp that seeks out targets and detonates in a scorching explosion, then seeks out other nearby targets.

Class ability – Phoenix Dive, Dive to the ground and create a burst of Solar Light that cures nearby allies. While Heat Rises is active, you gain restoration while diving and scorch targets upon landing.

Melee – Incinerator Snap, Snap your fingers to create a fan of burning sparks that explode and scorch targets.

Grenade – Fusion Grenade, An explosive grenade that attaches to targets, damaging and moderately scorching them on detonation.

Aspects

Hellion – Activate your class ability to summon a Solar mortar that lobs flaming projectiles at distant targets. Targets damaged by the mortar are scorched.

Touch of Flame – Your Healing, Solar, Firebolt, and Fusion Grenades have enhanced functionality. Fusion Grenade Explodes twice.

Fragments

Ember of Singeing – Your class ability recharges faster when you scorch targets.
Ember of Char – Your Solar ignitions spread scorch to affected targets.
Ember of Ashes – You apply more scorch stacks to targets.
Ember of Eruption – Your Solar ignitions have increased area of effect.

Weapons

Primary – Mint Retrograde (Rocket Pulse)

Mint Retrograde is a Legendary Kinetic Pulse Rifle with a Rocket-Assisted Frame meaning the weapon fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage.

To get Mint Retrograde you’ll want to run Pinnacle Ops, and you can find Pinnacles Ops via The Portal. Mint Retrograde is part of the rewards pool for Pinnacle Ops, and it’s a random drop throughout the activity, plus once you defeat the final boss.

Secondary – Polaris Lance (Exotic Scout Rifle)

This is an Exotic Energy Scout Rifle that deals with solar damage. Looking at the perks we have

The Perfect Fifth – Precision hits return ammo to the mag. Landing 4 precision hits loads a delayed solar explosive round for your nxt shot.

Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon increases the stability.

The main perk here is The Perfect Fifth, so ideally when you’re playing with this weapon you want to be getting as many precision hits as you can, as you get the benefit of the explosive round for the 5th shot. Next season we have Anti-Barrier Scouts, so this is going to be very useful for Nightfalls and other endgame PVE content.

You can get this from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower.

Heavy – Fixed Odds (Machine Gun)

Fixed Odds is a Legendary Power Machine Gun with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow-firing and high-damage. To get this one you will have to run the Duality Dungeon. I got this one to drop for me from the final boss encounter.
