The second catalyst is now available for Choir of One, and this one is Destabilizing Rounds, a great addition to any void weapon. Today I am going to run through how to get this catalyst so you can level up Choir of One in Destiny 2.

Finish the Encore exotic mission

First of all you have to finish the Encore exotic mission at least once, pick up your firsy copy of Choir of One and also get the quest from Banshee-44 in the Tower. The quest you are looking for related to Destabilizing Refit is called Choir: Upheaval. This quest has two steps, find the second secret chest and also complete the mission on Expert. If you have completed on Expert already, for example you would have done this if you got the first catalyst last week, then this quest step is retroactive and you only need to pick up the second secret chest.

Once you have picked up the quest it’s time to jump into the mission. If you haven’t completed Expert mode then select that, otherwise you can do it on normal difficulty. Select the Encore Exotic mission from the HELM, and let’s get find the secrets.

Create the Nexus

Run through the mission as normal, when you get to the purple area after the jumping puzzle, go left instead of right. Interact with the Vex Conflux and shoot the squares in the right sequence. The mini Vex cubes will let you know which ones to shoot.

Beat the Vex mini-boss

Continue through the mission and when you find all the samples, you’ll see the Vex Conflux again and you want to interact with it. Head through the portal to the right, and then instead of going left, this time go straight ahead into the new portal that’s opened up. You’ll see a huge Vex boss kneeling in the middle of the room and he’s called a Hexahedric Mind.

Once your fireteam is ready, you’ll want to kill the Minotaur, kill it and it will drop an access module. Once you have it, walk into the little cube at the start of the room. The cube will shine above one of the portals, then you’ll need to place the access module into the acess node. You want to point the line at the diamond under the cube. You will know you have activated it correctly when the cube turns white. Then walk into the portal.

You’ll go into a new room and you’ll see some Vex nodes you can shoot. Wait for a moment and a smaller Vex cube will appear, indicating the correct one to shoot. Destroy it, then the damage phase on the boss begins. Take down a third of it’s health, then repeat the process over again. When you have defeated the boss you’ll get some loot, also the Command Frame 3, plus you’ll be able to pick up a new specimen for Falisafe.

How to find the second secret chest

Keep going through the mission and you’ll get to the Ishtar Collecive Facility towards the end of the mission, right before you fight the final boss. Interact with the Vex Conflux and go through the portal. Instead of going forward, go left through the new portal and you’ll be in a new area which is like a cave structure, and you’ll have a new red buff called Deletion.

Go forward, keep to the right and you’ll find a deletion enemy. Kill them, pick up the deletion node and follow the proximity signal. Go round the corner and you’ll find a Vex Collectible, which looks like a disc. Interact with the disc, and you’ll be onto find the next one. Take the deletion node to the entrance of the area, open it and go inside. Here you’ll find another Deletion enemy, kill them and pick up the deletion node. Take it to the other node where you killed the first minotaur and plug it in. Then grab the other one to open the second deletion door, go up and collect the 2nd Vex Disc.

Next take the deletion modules to the first node, near the opening portal. Put the first one in and get the second and place it around the corner to the left, which leads back to the entrance. Go inside to find another disc. Interact with it, grab the deletion module, and continue along the path, then put the deletion module in the new node. Go right, and you’ll find a path to a new minotaur, kill it to get the access node.

Take the access node to the module. Go inside the portal and kill the minotaur and get the partition module. Go around the corner to find the Vex disc. Interact with it, and then place the partition module into the node to open up a shortcut back to the entrance, there you will find the chest. Open it up to complete the Choir Upheaval quest and you’ll get the Destabilizing Rounds refit Catalyst for your Choir of One Exotic.

From this point, you can either complete the mission if you need the expert mode completion, or you can exit the mission and make your way to Savathun’s Throne World at the Enclave to Reshape the Choir of One Auto Rifle, adding in the new Command Frame 3 and Destabilizing Rounds refit Catalyst. Then get out there into the world and try it out.
