Mataiodoxía

How to get Mataiodoxía for the best endgame PVE Warlock build in Destiny 2

Mataiodoxía is a Warlock chest armor added to Destiny 2 in The Final Shape. This is the basis of one of the best endgame PVE builds for Warlocks in Destiny 2 right now, allowing you to take out all types of champions with elemental buffs, plus you can super charge your transcendance meter giving you extra damage, near infinite abilities, plus damage resistance too. Today I’m going to cover how to get Mataiodoxía, then go into detail about why the build is good, plus show off some gameplay too.

How to get Mataiodoxía

To get Mataiodoxía there are two ways to get it. First of all, complete The Final Shape campaign on Legendary difficulty then select Mataiodoxía when you get the option in the Lost City after you’ve fought the Witness. Second, you can rank up with Master Rahool in the Tower, reset his rank, and then you’ll get a focusing option for the new exotic armor.

Why this build is good

This is one of the best endgame PVE Warlock builds in the game right now, allowing you to control the battlefield and take out every champion, just with your elemental buffs. This build super charges your transcendance meter, allowing you to get it back in about 15 secs. Transcendance is perfect for endgame PVE because you have increased damage reduction, near infinite abilities, plus you build your super nice and quickly, plus dish out extra damage.

Champions are not a problem given you take out Barrier Champions with Radiant and the exotic armor we’re using. Unstoppable Champions get stopped in their tracks with shatter, ignitions and suspend, then Overload champions are taken care of with slow, suppression and jolt.

How to put this build together

Let’s look at how to put this together.

Exotic Armor – Mataiodoxía

Mataiodoxía is a Warlock Chest Exotic and comes with the perk Stylostixis.

Stylostixis – Targets damaged by Arcane Needle emit a suspending detonation when defeated, and landing multiple Arcane Needles on the same target immediately triggers a larger, more powerful detonation. Defeating suspended targets grants melee energy. Your Arcane Needles are strong against Barrier Champions.

Prismatic Subclass

Super – Song of Flame

Makes your equipped weapons radiant and enhances your abilities. While in your super you release a supercharged melee attack that launches additional projectiles. The grande creates a sentient flame wisp that seeks out targets and detonates in a scorching explosion, then seeks out other nearby targets. While Song of Flame is active, you and nearby allies regenerate abilities more quickly, are more resistant to incoming damage, and your Solar and Kinetic weapons scorch targets.

Melee – Arcane Needle

Sling a woven needle that will embed in your target, unraveling them. Activate your melee ability again to chain up to two additional attacks.

Grenade – Storm Grenade

A grenade that calls down a focused lightning storm. This is going to jolt targets.

Grenade – Transcendence Grenade (Void/Stasis)

Throw a mass of Void energy and Stasis matter. On impact, deploys a miniature black hole orbited by a slowing field. After a short duration, the black hole implodes, suppressing and dealing heavy damage to all nearby targets. This is going to weaken targets.

Class Ability – Phoenix Dive

Dive to the ground and create a burst of Solar Light that cures nearby allies.

Aspects

Hellion (Solar)

Activate your class ability to summon a Solar mortar that lobs flaming projectiles at distant targets. Targets damaged by the mortar are scorched.

Feed the Void (Void)

Defeat a target with any ability to activate Devour. This gives us a good amount of health, plus an almost infinite stream of grenades.

Fragments

Facet of Grace

Defeating targets with Kinetic weapons grants you bonus Transcendence energy. Defeating targets with your Super grants you and nearby allies bonus Transcendence energy.

Facet of Command

Freezing or suppressing a target reloads your equipped weapons and increases weapon stability, aim assist, and airborne effectiveness. Defeating frozen or suppressed targets creates a Stasis Shard or Void Breach.

Facet of Dawn

Powered melee hits against targets makes you radiant. Powered melee final blows make you and nearby allies radiant.

Facet of Protection

While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage. While transcendent, the effect is increased. This is going to help us stay alive.

Facet of Dominance

Your Void grenades weaken targets, and your Arc grenades jolt targets. This is going to boost our grenades making us more effective on the battlefield.

Weapons

Primary – Khvostov 7G-0X

This is an exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle, and one of the best weapons in the game right now.

The Right Choice – Every seventh bullet from this weapon deals additional damage and ricochets to nearby targets.

Shoot to Loot – Shooting an Orb of Power picks it up. Shooting an ammo brick picks it up and automatically reloads all of your equipped weapons from reserves.

I have a guide on the channel for how to get this weapon, it’s a series of post campaign quests after The Final Shape. It takes time, but it’s very much worth it.

Energy – Abberant Action

Aberrant Action is a Legendary Energy Sidearm with a rocket-assisted frame meaning sidearm fires self-propelled rocket ammunition. Projectiles explode on impact for high damage. The Origin Trait here is Radiolara Transposer. Rapid final blows cause targets to explode into a pool of radiolarian fluid.

Aberrant Action is a weapon added into Destiny 2 as part of Episode 1 Echoes, that means you can play Breach Executable to get it.

Heavy – Hammerhead

Hammerhead is a Legendary Power Machine Gun which is an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. The origin trait here is Indomitability where final blows grant grenade energy when playing a Light subclass or melee energy when playing a Darkness subclass.

Get this one from the Onslaught via the Vanguard menu on the Director.

Armor mods

Head

Kinetic Siphon – Rapid Kinetic weapon final blows create an Orb of Power.
Ashes to Assets – Gain bonus Super energy on grenade kills.

Arms

Firepower – Your grenade final blows create Orbs of Power.
Bolstering Detonation – Grants class ability energy when you cause damage with a grenade.

Chest

Solar Resistance – Reduces incoming Solar damage from combatants.
Arc Resistance – Reduces incoming Arc damage from combatants.
Void Resistance – Reduces incoming Void damage from combatants.

Legs

Kinetic Weapon Surge – Your Kinetic weapons gain a small bonus to damage while you have any Armor Charge. Your Armor Charge now decays over time.

Class Item

Time Dilation – Your decaying Armor Charge has a longer duration.
Reaper – Shortly after using your class ability, your next weapon final blow spawns an Orb of Power.
Bomber – Reduces grenade cooldown when using your class ability.

Artifact mods

Radiant Orbs – While you have a Solar or Prismatic subclass equipped, picking up an Orb of Power makes you radiant.

Galvanic Armor – While you have an Arc or Prismatic subclass equipped, incoming damage from combatants is reduced while amplified.

Gameplay loop

The lynch pin of the build is Khvostov. Eyes Up Guardian is a great perk on Khvostov that provides more damage when you pick up an orb of power. Therefore we want to generate orbs of power through our mods (Kinetic Siphon), then shoot to activate Eyes Up Guardian. More damage means more transcendance. The Kinetic Surge Mods plus the Radiant buff from Radiant Orbs give us a massive damage boost, all activated through our primary weapon.

Defeating a target with any ability is going to provide Devour, that helps us with damage reduction, plus we have Galvanic armour to provide incoming damage resistance while amplified. This means we’re buffing our damage output, plus incoming damage resistance all before the transcendance effect.

Warlocks, take this one into endgame PVE and see what you think. Let me know what you think of the build, and share yours in the comments, plus let me know if you have any improvements.
