How to get Ergo Sum
Here’s what we need to do:
Complete The Final Shape Campaign
Complete “Destined Heroes Queens Part 1” quest
Complete “Found in the Dark” quest
Complete “Lost in the Light” quest
Complete “Destined Heroes Queens Part 2” quest
How to complete “Queens Part 1” quest
Once you finish up the campaign, you’ll be back in the Lost City Old Tower, talk to ghost and they will offer you the Destined Heroes quest. Then tune into the radio message to pick up Queens Part 1. Queens Part 1 is a simmilar to a campaign mission. It’s all fairly straight forward, apart from the rune mechanics. At certain points you’ll have to reflect different elements into runes to activate them. You’ll have to kill a Hive Knight, pick up their Sword and reflect different elements into the runes. Keep killing the Hive enemies and new enemies will spawn to create the different elements. Keep working through the mission and you’ll face off against Savathun, and then finish up the Queens Part 1 quest.
Once you have finished up Queens Part 1, then speak to Cayde in the Lost City to pick up “Wild Card”, you’ll come back to that later. Speak to Ghost again and he’ll give you 2 new quests called Lost in the Light and Found in the Dark. These are both post campaign missions to pick up your remaining light and darkness prismatic supers, grenades, melees and aspects.
How to complete “Lost in the Light” quest
Once you start this quest you’ll want to follow the quest markers and it’ll take you to the first Prismatic chest. There are 2 new mini-quests you’ll need to complete called The Hollow Part 1 and The Hollow Part 2. On the way you’ll have to face off against Eaters of Light and Darkness, where you have to pick up the 5 motes of Darkness and slam onto the light plates, and also the opposite, the 5 motes of Light and slam them into the Darkness plates. Then it’s a face off against Korha The Hollow, where you have to repeat the mechanics you learned with the light and darkness motes.
For The Hollow Part 2 you go back to Europa and you have to escort the exploding Shank to doorways to explode them open. Then you work your way through the landscape, repeating the exploding Shank trick, until you meet Korha for another boss fight.
Once you have finished up the Hollow Part 1 and Part 2, you’ll need to open up the Prismatic chests to get your new abilities.
How to complete “Found in the Dark” quest
Found in the Dark is a similar quest to Lost in the Light, although this time you are facing off against The Cabal. You’ll load into the mission, pick up your Prismatic chests to get your Darkness abilities, then complete a couple of smaller quests against the Cabal called Home Part 1 and Home Part 2. Caital is giving Zavala a pep talk throughout, given he’s feeling down and Caital is trying to motivate him. For Home Part 1 you’ll face off against Shadow Legion and you’ll have to place Cabal Atennas, which mean killing a certain enemy, picking up their drops and placing on a generator to destroy it. Then pick up a Darkness ability from a chest. Home Part 2 takes you out in the snow where you have to explode the generators. Finally you’ll be taken back to Zavala’s House for a final battle against a tank.
How to complete “Queens Part 2” quest
Queens Part 2 is another straight forward mission where you follow the quest markers and you end up fighting two Tormentors. Complete the quest and you’ll then speak to Ghost who will give you something called the Dyadic Prism. This will give you access to a new landing zone on the Pale Heart in Sacraium. Load into here, interact with the statue and you’ll get your first Ergo Sum exotic sword.
Ergo Sum
This is a random rolled exotic, meaning everytime you get it, you’ll get a new sword frame and new perks. There is a fixed perk called Transcendent Duelist, which means it takes special ammo. Also, kills with the weapon charge both your light and darkness meters for Transcendence. While Transcendence, Ergo Sum does loads more damage and increases the Transcendence time.
To get additional versions of Ergo Sum you’ll want to complete the Pathfinder bounty system on the Pale Heart or you can farm the Overthrow activity.
Here’s the perks you can get on the Ergo Sum
Wolfpack Round (Gjallarhorn) – Heavy attacks grant cluster missiles to sword wielders.
Gathering Light (Traveler’s Chosen) – Stowing weapon restores ability energy based on final blows.
Sacred Flame (Ticuu’s Divination) – Heavy attacks mark targets, light attacks detonate them.
The Perfect Fifth (Polaris Lance) – Every five hits attaches a delayed explosion.
Arc Conductor (Riskrunner) – Heavy attacks surge lightning from the user.
Stormbringer (Cloudstrike) – Rapid final blows create a lightning storm.
Unplanned Reprieve (Telesto) – Heavy attacks emit delayed detonating projectiles.
Insectoid Robot Grenades (The Colony) – Final blows deploy homing robot grenades.
