Everything we know about Pantheon (Raid-boss Rush Mode) in Destiny 2

Pantheon is a new raid boss rush mode coming to Destiny 2 this week with Into The Light. It’s a limited time event where we get to face off against mutliple raid bosses from different raids for the first time, plus we’re going to be able to get raid exotic weapons and we have a unique Godslayer Title to go with the event. Today I’m going to go over all the details we know about Pantheon so you can get ready for this boss sush mode in Destiny 2.

Before we dive into the info, thanks to @harryy2533 on Twitter for the info. Bungie has been very tight lipped about details of Pantheon, but there is reliable info out there, and today I’m going to collect it all together.

Pantheon

The Pantheon rules are as follows:

  • Complete raid encounters in succession. Activate the transmat banner after completing an encounter to progress to the next arena.
  • Each encounter has a bonus timer. You earn additional points while the timer is active. Finish the encounter before the timer runs out for additional score.
  • Completing encounters, and completing encounters with a high score, grant rewards. Remaining rewards for The Pantheon are tracked on the Triumphs page.
  • Arcite 99-40 is waiting at the end of The Pantheon for the Guardians who have completed the “Divine Weaponry” quests.

It is non-matchmade but you are going to be able to use Fireteam Finder to find a group. There may also be new or different mechanics and challenges for the encounters. All 4 Pantheon modes have a unique emblem that will drop from the triumph after your first completion. All 4 modes have 10% increased Void, Solar, Arc, Stasis and Strand weapon damage modifiers. All modes also have a modifier called Shot Caller – Landing multiple precision hits with a Primary ammo weapon empowers Special and Heavy ammo weapons. Reduces incoming damage while active.

The 4 normal completion triumphs drop their respective emblem and 30 spoils each. The high score and points triumphs drop adept versions of raid weapons, the weapons include:

Smite of Merain (Harrowed) – Pulse Rifle, King’s Fall
Qullim’s Terminus (Harrowed) – Machine Gun, King’s Fall
Insidious (Adept) – Pulse Rifle, Vow of the Disciple
Acasia’s Dejection (Adept) – Trace Rifle, Root of Nightmares
Zaouli’s Bane (Harrowed) – Hand Cannon, King’s Fall
Rufus’s Fury (Adept) – Auto Rifle, Root of Nightmares

4 Different selectable modes/difficulties:

Atraks Sovereign
(First 4 Bosses, +5 Power)
Oryx Exalted
(First 5 Bosses, +10 Power)
Rhulk Indomitable
(First 6 Bosses, +15 Power)
Nezarec Sublime
(All 8 Bosses, +20 Power/Contest Mode)

8 Raid bosses in order:

Golgoroth (King’s Fall 3rd)
Caretaker (Vow of the Disciple 2nd)
Zo’aurc (Root of Nightmares 3rd)
Atraks-1 (Deep Stone Crypt 2nd)
Oryx (King’s Fall 5th)
Rhulk (Vow of the Disciple 4th)
Riven (Last Wish 5th)
Nezarec (Root of Nightmares 4th)

The Pantheon will Let You Acquire TWO Exotic Raid Weapons.

Divine Weaponry 1 Steps
Complete The Pantheon on any difficulty.

Before exiting The Pantheon, claim an Exotic weapon from Arcite 99-40.

Divine Weaponry 2 Steps
Complete a run of The Pantheon: Rhulk Indomitable (+15 Power) or Nezarec Sublime (+20 Power)

Before exiting The Pantheon, claim an Exotic weapon from Arcite 99-40.

The 5 Exotic Raid Weapons Obtainable Are:
Conditional Finality (RoN)
Touch of Malice (KF)
Collective Obligation (VotD)
Eyes of Tomorrow (DSC)
One Thousand Voices (LW)

Due to there being only two Divine Weaponry quests in the API, it is very likely that you will be allowed to only pick 2 raid weapons so choose wisely.

Here’s some details from Bungie.

The goal of Pantheon is to relive those incredible and heroic moments that raids always deliver, while also changing what you expect from some of the encounters many of you already know so well. Prepare to be nimble, adapt your strategies (or throw them out of the window), and your fireteam will find success.

Pantheon will increase in scale and difficulty each week, starting with four bosses in the first one and growing up to eight in a row on May 21. Each time a new boss is added, the active modifiers will rotate, and the Power cap will change, starting with players at 5 Power below all the way up to contest mode equivalent of 20 Power below.

As difficulty goes up, so does the pool of available rewards. You can get Adept raid weapons, Deepsight versions of raid weapons, and even Exotic weapons. Some rewards are weekly and others are linked to pursuits or Triumphs (like the four new emblems), but many will also depend on your performance. We challenge you to complete each encounter before the bonus timer expires to get a Platinum score and the greatest rewards.

When April 30 arrives, we hope you have trained and prepared yourselves, Guardians. Shaxx will have the quest you’ll need to start your journey to become a Godslayer. Yeah, that’s the title waiting for the champions that conquer Pantheon.
