Optative is a returning Hand Cannon in Season of the Wish. This is a 180 rpm hand cannon, and it’s got some pretty decent rolls for both PVE and PVP content. Today I want to take a closer look at the weapon, the stats, perks and god rolls, plus we’ll check out how to get Optative in Destiny 2.
How to get Optative
You can get Optative from Season of the Wish activities including Riven’s Lair, plus the Starcrossed Exotic Mission. Once you have it, you can focus Wish engrams at Riven in the H.E.L.M. for 4 wish engrams and 3000 glimmer, or get it from the Undying weapon engram. Optative is craftable so once you get 5 red borders and extract the deepsight, you’ll be able to craft your very own version at the Enclave on Savathun’s Throne World.
Optative
Optative is a Legendary Energy Hand Cannon with a Precision Frame meaning the recoil pattern on this weapon is more predictably vertical. Fires quickly with high accuracy. Looking at the stats we have Impact 78, Range 34, Stability 55, Handling 26, Reload Speed 53, Airborne Effectiveness 10, Rounds Per Minute 180, Magazine 12.
The Origin Trait here is Nano-munitions meaning being near allies slowly builds up a partial emergency ammo refill for the next time this weapon runs out of ammo. Emergency ammo amount increases with time spent near allies.
Optative god roll guide
For PVE Fluted Barrel, Extended Mag, Rapid Hit and Kill Clip would be good.
- Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed, Slightly increases stability
- Extended Mag – Greatly increases magazine size, Greatly decreases reload speed, Increases airborne effectiveness
- Rapid Hit – Rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
- Kill Clip – Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
For PVP Smallbore, Accurized, Keep Away and Golden Tricorn would be good.
- Smallbore – Increases range, Increases stability
- Accurized Rounds – Increases range
- Keep Away – Increases reload, range, and accuracy when no targets are in close proximity.
- Golden Tricorn – Final blows with this weapon grant bonus damage. While this buff is active, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase its damage and duration.
