How to get Luna Regolith III (Legendary Sniper Rifle) in Destiny 2

Luna Regolith III is this season’s Vanguard weapon, and it’s a decent sniper where you’re looking for a long range weapon for PVE or PVP content. Today I want to take a closer look at the weapon, the stats, perks, god rolls plus how to get Luna Regolith III in Destiny 2.

How to get Luna Regolith III

To get the Luna Regolith III you’ll have to run Vanguard Ops and it’s a random drop from the end of the activity in Season of the Witch. You can also focus engrams at Zavala in the Tower to get the Luna Regolith III.

Luna Regolith III

Luna Regolith III is a Legendary Energy Sniper Rifle dealing solar damage with an Aggressive Frame meaning high damage, high recoil. Looking at the stats we have Impact 90, Range 67, Stability 22, Handling 25, Reload Speed 28, Airborne Effectiveness 3, Rounds Per Minute 72 and Magazine 3.

Luna Regolith III god roll guide

For PvE Arrowhead Brake, Tactical Mag, Clown Cartridge and Firing Line would be good.

  • Arrowhead Brake – Greatly controls recoil, Increases handling speed
  • Tactical Mag – Slightly increases stability, Increases reload speed, Slightly increases magazine size
  • Clown Cartridge – Reloading this weapon randomly overfills it from reserves.
  • Firing Line – This weapon deals increased precision damage when near two or more allies.

Clown Cartridge is a very good option, then you have a choice between Firing Line or High Ground. Both give a 20% buff to damage, although Firing Line require teammeates close by. Snipers are lagging behind other special weapons at the moment in the damage dept, but we do have a sniper buff coming very soon.

For PvP Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot would be good.

  • Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed, Slightly increases stability
  • Accurized Rounds – Increases range
  • Snapshot Sights – Faster time to aim down sights
  • Opening Shot – Increased damage on the opening shot of the attack

PVP players can use the 72 rpm snipers for one tap body shots, which is achieveable with High Ground. Get up higher than your opponent and you’ll increase damage by 10%. You can pair this with an empowering rift and you’ll one-tap guardians running t9 resilience. Opening shot is another decent option, which is the more consistent approach rather than trying to get the one tap. All in all it’s a solid pick for PVP content.

Let me know what you think of the Luna Regolith III and let me know your top rolls and where you like to use it.
